Tire brands / size question

Hi what’s the difference between 225 and 235 tire? Mine came with 225. Also what is a better tire? fire stone destination LE3, Michelin defender 2 or BF Goodrich advantage control.

thats the width of the tire in millimeters. I doubt there is a definitive answer as to which tire is truely better.

The difference between a 225 & 235 tire is 10MM. LOL.

225/235 is width of the tire that hits the road.

The second number is the aspect ratio for the sidewall. A 60 sidewall is shorter than a 65 sidewall assuming the same width.

The last number is the diameter of the wheel that it goes on.

My 245/65R17 Toyo Open Country IIIs have been great, but I'd likely go down to 235s for slightly better mileage in the future.

In my opinion, the only folks that should be replacing tires from the factory are the folks that do mild off-roading because the stock tires can be absolute trash for that, even on the FX4.

I’m getting excellent wear out of my Continentals but when it’s time to replace I’m going with the Firestone Destination LE3

My Lariat came with Michelin A/S. That is one of many reasons I paid the price for the Lariat.

I drive mostly paved roads in suburban and urban settings. I am partial to Michelins because their "bladder" holds air better than other brands. They run quieter in my opinion. This seems consistent throughout their useful life. They don't have heavy spots and seem to require fewer weights to balance them than other brands. [I know there are variables such as the wheel etc. ]

I would recommend you get These, You will not be disappointed! Far superior to the factory Continentals. They are only 1/2 in taller/wider and you will not notice a bit of difference in gas mileage.
