So the source of your made up word. It is "tow truck operator" "towing company". Learn to use a dictionary! Yes I am in a bad mood today and I'm not apologizing for it. Hopefully you never have a date like this!
No problem buddy, hope your day gets better.

"baby blue hatchback"?
Ford Maverick Ticketed: UNSAFE TOWING DEVICE 1747180456729-ee

i dunno, that doesnt look like a Maverick to me...

im not an LEO or lawyer, but you just might be able to get it dismissed due to that info being wrong. i dont think anyone in their right mind would consider Velocity Blue any degree of "light", and the "hatchback" part is just inexcusable. of course, i could be wrong and this will do nothing, but its worth a shot

So as a police officer charged with protecting the public if you saw someone towing a car with 3 bungy cords you would let it go? We do not know yet and the OP has not answered what he was towing with. If you use a poor towing device you could end causing a pileup instead of helping. I guess if you see power lines down on the road you would be a good Samaritan and move them aside so traffic can pass?
What a jerk

Definitely a douchey move by the officer. Since it was already done, a warning would have been the class move. Yeah, sure, "legally" you are at fault, but I think there is a better story here, and it's a shame the cop couldn't see it. Incidents like these do not help their public relations. 👎

Only if breaking the law. I have lived here 25 years and got 1 ticket for making a u turn where the no u turn sign had been run over and was laying on the ground. I was car number 3 in line for the Henrico County police handing out tickets on that side street.
I got hit doing a taxi stop at a 3 way corner where there is technically only traffic coming from 2 directions. It was in a small border town just across from the Can/US border. The cop was trying to get his quota in. He even said you did slow down and look for traffic but you failed to come to a complete stop. Sure, enough he was right back in the same spot after I completed my business and was on my way home. I have a Nexus card and use to cross almost weekly to check the mail and buy gas, but I closed up my US postal box and have not crossed the border again unless I have to. That $125 fine has cost the town tens of thousands of dollars of my business in the past 12 years!

Some more context from a local, Houston has some of the worst traffic in the country, and 45 IS the most dangerous stretch of highway in the country, per an analysis done about 3 years ago. I need to start carrying a white flag...

Hatchback? That should get you out of the ticket all by itself. . . "that's not my vehicle".
I've seen (and had) tickets dismissed for improper description before. Usually color isn't enough but calling a pickup a hatchback would probably do it.
A cop buddy told me that officers will often write tickets incorrectly due to ignorance but occasionally it's to annoy the recipient by making them waste a day in court and yup, it sure is annoying.

And many times they no-show and have a continuance (or not) just to waste your time. No money gained. No points. But they still got you messed up taking a day off to go to court.

My ex-brother in law was a local cop. There was a lot of things that happened that were similar in his department. Many times, they'd schedule their 'big cases' for the same day and everyone else for different days so they only spend one day in court. The rest get dismissed when the officer no-shows. They just hope most people pay and move on.

Did the old lady see you get ticketed?
Did you get the ladies contact info?
Maybe you could have her make a statement and get it notarized and take the letter to the judge?

That would never work for me I usually fight them to make the cop waste the time in court. Especially if the tickets is something I truly protest. If I have him in court he can’t be out writing other tickets.

That cop was a Twat Waffle,
A warning was all you should have gotten.

The officer ticked my Maverick as an “UNSAFE TOWING DEVICE”…

All cause I pulled up in front of a little old lady broke down in the middle lane of I-45 and towed her Cherokee off the highway into the Bucees parking lot.

AND SHE CALLED IT BABY BLUE!
AND SHE CALLED IT A HATCHBACK!

It’s hard enough holding onto my man card driving a mini truck without an officer belittling it.
😆
Did you remind her that according to the experts (Wrecked, Heavy Rescue: 401 and Highway Thru Hell) clearing the highway quickly is very important, and if she has ever watched any of these shows' she has to know they often do very sketchy things to get that done!

But seriously sometimes you have to break a rule (ok, call it a law if you want), to protect life and avoid a more serious outcome if you do nothing!

I would pay it, frame it and remember it as the time you did the right thing!
