Just finished up an S/B intake. Wasn't really fun but the directions and fit/finish were pretty good - Looks like the Lariat Mavericks have less tubes on the intake since they come with an electronic brake boost module -

Haven't seen this posted before but the main OEM intake tube which rests just above the turbo comes with heat shield material. I might add some to mine since the intake gets really hot.

Nice seat of the pants upgrade feel and such. Not a ton louder than stock - Long distance highway test tomorrow @ elevation and and 85+ plus for four hours / 280 miles.

Fun times -

right, that makes sense. needs vacuum before the turbo for a vacuum brake booster.

so you have the right one for yours right? do they make 2 versions?

One version of the intake but everything seems fine - Just a little less hassle with the electronic booster - Don't have to use one of the adapter plates and move as many tubes.

From what I have seen, the engines don't use intake vacuum for the brake booster, they use a vacuum pump on the intake cam(I think). So no version should have a line to the intake from the brake booster.

Did you end up wrapping the intake tube about the turbo?

id not have this large tube/pump/whatever assembly at all - Will add some kind of heat shield material after I can locate something thick like the OEM version I took a picture of -

May I ask where did you purchase this upgrade?
