Make the waiting fun....start buying int/ext accessories!!!
I did not do this because of all the shenanigans happening with dealers, I didn't want to be stuck with a bunch of crap that I couldn't use if the dealer sold my truck out from under me.

Just buy generic stuff that will go with anything. I recently bought a front/rear camera setup.

When I placed my order back in September of 22', I was thrilled that I even got the opportunity to do as soon after ford closed the order banks again. When the sales guy said that it may take up to 6 months for me to receive, I was still happy. After month 1 of waiting, I was still fine, I got an email from ford that said important order update and upon opening found out that there was indeed no update just a promise to update me again in a certain amount of time. I then received another "Important Update" about 90 days later that was yet again just words that stated there was no movement. At this point the original 6-month wait was just about 2.5 months expired and I was still feeling optimistic. However, I am now feeling less optimistic and am losing hope that 6 months was an accurate projection. To make things worse I just read a post on this website from a user who ordered in September 22' and now has their truck in their garage.

I will keep waiting and I will not give up, it just seems like I am losing my original optimism. I know I am not the only person with these thoughts and really am just writing this as a way to build back my optimism and continue the wait. I suppose this is the best way to save money by not having a car payment, can you all please help identify some other pros to waiting for this awesome truck to arrive home?

Thanks,

A HELPLESS TRUCK ROMANTIC
Yeah they told me mine would take 6 to 8 weeks…….that was 15 months ago!

Hang in there, OP and all of you.

I haven’t yet seen anyone on the board that waited longer than me (see sig,) I am only about 6 weeks in since taking delivery, and all of the angst has already washed away… the truck is so worth it.

I missed the ordering window and need to wait another maybe 2 months to start looking for a truck on a lot, but I already have a list of accessories and mods at the ready. 😅

Indeed, I ran the gamut from feeling Buried Alive asking myself every 46 Days or so, What’s the Use? but then My Sweet One was built and put Back on the Train, finally delivered and now You Enjoy MyTruck. ;)

PS - we are everywhere. ⭕

Those peeps that ordered in Sept of 22 and already have their truck are the extremely lucky exception, not the rule, especially the hybrids.

You think you're frustrated, try being someone who ordered in October of 21, got a VIN, and then told you are going to be cancelled and Ford will reorder a 23 for you.

While you are waiting for Ford to figure out what they are going to do with the 6,000 cancelled hybrid orders, you get to see all these brand new hybrid orders, many exactly the same configurations as your own, get scheduled ahead of you and now delivered while your SECOND VIN is still a month away from being built...

What's crazy is that, as bad as my situation sounds, even I still have to check myself and count my lucky stars because there are people here (and I'm sure many others that don't frequent the forums) that ordered the same time as me or earlier and still don't even have a scheduled build date or VIN!

I also ordered my 2022 Maverick Hybrid XLT, lux co-pilot 360, sibl, on Oct 21, 2021. I got my vin in Oct 2022. November 14, 2022 it was converted to a 2023. I called Ford customer Service today and was told my 2023 Maverick is in transit, and expected ETA is late January or early February. Keep the faith......

Ordered mine October '21 and supposedly it's getting built next week. Got scheduled 5 times. It's been an emotional roller coaster trying to get it. I've seen my dealer more than I've seen my wife. And, then there's the shipping which is going to drive me crazy. If I ran across someone that got one they ordered in September I'd be pissed (at Ford). Could of had one like mine at 5k over MSRP. Considered it but it was school bus yellow.
