Why would any vehicle manufacturer go through moving a foreign plant here when the genius who is doing this is indeed not stable and vacillates weekly???? Corporations and investors abhor the unknown because they cannot reasonably analyse the risks. My two cents!!
THEY WON'T!!!!!!!!!!!

They will move some production back, but this will probably be the death knell of the economy vehicle with an ICE. The sub-$20k vehicle was already a critically endangered species, and before you know it the sub-$30k will be, too.

As someone pointed out in the most recently locked tariff thread, automakers learned quick during COVID production challenges that it's a lot easier to make $20k profit on one vehicle than $2k on 10. Since the capitol and regulatory cost of entering the vehicle market is so high, no one can swoop in to compete in that space either.

It's hard not to be extremely pessimistic about the future, but I guess as someone who rides a bike (bicycle) 8-10k miles / year, maybe I'm way ahead of what we'll all be doing as peasants with nothing in 20 years.

They can't!

Example
Craftsman tools came back. They spent tons on a plant. We have no tooling to make machines to make tools also no engineering qualified to run a plant. No workers qualified to run equipment.
Tooling would have to come from Germany to set us up.
Engineers from Germany, India or China.
Craftsman is making a few tools but gave up on a whole line in America.

You can't fix 50 years of selling or soul for cheap products and businesses high profits. It's our fault and we were all given away by the few to profit.
Problem now is that the products made elsewhere are really good and we don't have the will or technology to prevail. Our automakers, what's left are middle of the road.

I'm just happy I got mine in 2022. The whole situation just sad, they are a great truck and got mine for 31K.

The bigger issue is stop drinking the kool-aid, it will make you a liar and more stupid. How much longer will it take to convince some that you are killing yourselfs.
What I meant was- don't get so hyped up about something you can't change and relax.

My Mav is being built this coming Monday , If it cost more when it arrives then I will more then
likely pass for now . Not really sure yet .
I'm willing to bet the price is the same as agreed upon , of course this is
merely speculation .
I'm all for reciprocal tariffs , if they charge us , we charge them the same ... If it helps
AMERICAN workers I'm all for it especially when it comes to steel and aluminum .

Good luck paying another tax to the feds so he can fund the tax to the upper class. Hopefully a few jobs come back for fed workers to have, and good luck if big business screws you there won't be anyone left to help you. Congress and it's staff should be cut. Oh, you should by a Tesla from a Foreign. National owner from South Africa, not a Ford. Did you see our leaders commercial promoting his cars not fords of course.

Ladies and Gentlemen: I discovered the answer last year - as a tax software developer it was obvious. The top 2% of the wealthy/billionaires pay the lowest % of taxes. (FACT)

Our government should put a hold on going to MARS and put some attention towards fired Federal Employees and the Vets. I live 3 miles from the CDC Headquarters...and many. many senior scientists live in my neighborhood....they all say the same thing..."this country will be in a world of hurt if another Covid, Eboli or Measles hits us again. There is so much incorrect medical information and decisions being pushed out by politicians that have ZERO medical knowledge. 500 of the top CDC scientists based in Atlanta have been fired or resigned in the lasts 2 month.

Edit:
The top CDC researcher and primary brains behind and leading to the development of the Covid Vaccine was fired, then resigned yesterday 3/28/25.

FedEx, DHL and UPS have been trying to close the USPS for years and privatize so than can profit and charge 10 bucks to mail a letter. They lobbied the crook politicians years ago to make the USPS hold back 75% of projected funds for federal pensions to try and break them financially, so they had no money for improvement and operating costs. A bs choke hold. Lucky it didn't work they survived it
What fing business is required to do that.
People are so damn gullible, they smile and wave a gun while having the rug pulled out from under them. Poorer an poorer every decade since the 70s. Good luck private for profit life......another word for slavery.
