Below is a copy/paste email from my local ford dealer. I ordered the Maverick October 29th 2021. All along ive checked in every couple months to see the status (with the dealer) "
What I’m being told is by you just walking in and ordering a maverick and not going through the lead portal is the problem. We do have a portal with order verification that the maverick is not part of . I didn’t relise there is another separate portal just for the maverick that’s my fault I’m trying to see if I can switch a stock unit to your spec’s. If not it will have to be a 23 but I am trying. Sorry it’s my fault that you where not put into the Maverick portal"

I'd post my 2 reply emails to the dealership, but there would be a whole lot of censoring. I was not happy to find out after 7 months of wait, that he never completed the order process. Is there anything legally I can do? Besides get back my 500.00 deposit and buy a truck way over what I was supposed to pay for this one. (Sad part to me is I still want the truck)
I got lucky. On impulse I dropped in dealer while driving by and said I wanted one and the sales gal asked if I had selected a build online and I said no. She said that she would go into Ford portal online on her computer and when she got to the build my maverick portal she let me pick the options I wanted and at the end selected her dealership and signed off. Then went to rear for the person there to accept the order and do their thing. While they were doing that she brought me the order to sign and got my DL to meet order requirements. I was in and out the door in 20-30 minutes. This was August 27, 2021. In last week of April I got a vin# and 2-3 weeks later I was scheduled for June 27th build. Never received any email from Ford after the "received your order" email from Ford but received text of vin # and build date from the sales gal.🥰

They told me all along the truck was just listed as "unscheduled" however the dealer seems to actually know more about the status than Ford themselves. The reason it's unscheduled (according to the dealer) is because he forgot to add the order to the special maverick portal and just put it through his normal Ford orders. So Ford tells me everything is fine, the dealer tells me nothing is fine. Who to believe...I don't know?
Is there a possibility the dealer is trying to sell your ordered Maverick?

Unfortunately that's why it is so important to get that confirmation email. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do legally.

They dealership hopefully is trying to make it right.

Call Ford. If he didn’t order the truck correctly you would have a “unscheduled balanced out” comment on your build.
Just did ...this rep was more direct and helpful than last 2 I spoke with. I asked directly "is my order listed as unscheduled balanced out" he stated that the order is good and it's a valid order just waiting scheduling. Which brings me back to why dealer emailed me this morning that he dropped the ball and didn't put the order in the mav portal

I've thought that as well. That I will fight my ass off to not let happen. I would hope their reputation means more to them then a couple thousand dollars
If you have a VIN, it's not hard to track.

I guess you never called Ford to check if its in the system. Did the dealer provide you with an order number when you placed the order. If he did i would call Ford and play dumb and get a status from Ford. Dealer may just be trying to sell the truck out from underneath you at a greater profit. It’s the old saying “TRUST BUT VERIFY”
How would you stop a dealer from selling your truck out from under you? I've heard this is happening. I'd assume people are like me and wouldn't just let that fly. I'd blast that dealership. I would also hope that a reputable dealership would value their reputation more than the profits they would make. Idk?

They're near my hometown withing 15 miles... at this point I'd like to believe he made a human error and the information he sent via email this morning was a mistake. I can then apologize for my Email response 😅🤣, and we can move forward. In a perfect world

Had same thing happen to me. Dealer never sent covp, same as rovp, but went into dealership in October. Ford has order, but will never schedule without covp or rovp. I even dm Mike Levine, he assigned to someone and gave me a case #. I used to call or email for update, ford stopped responding. WORST ORDERING experience ever. I have to reorder in August at this point.

Have you called the salesperson and relay that you've spoken with Ford and that the order is valid?

You need to call the dealership and relay the info from Ford and tell them you are looking forward to getting your 2022 Maverick. I would follow up the call with a letter sent certified receipt required. Don’t let them screw you.

when I called Ford today ,they ask me for the sales code # and the order code #, on my sales order sheet I got from the dealer ,and my name-address -phone #-and email, said all info is correct, the system is just waiting for a build date and Vin. # (I sure hope so anyway)
