I'd be able to overlook the protrusions on some darker colors, but I'd never own anything darker than my current Carbon Grey and I think the main thing that is turning me off is the grille itself. It was already kind of a miss on the grilles in the 1st gen and this just accentuates it.
The funny thing is those protrusions exist on other models, like the Ranger - but the front end was designed around them so it's not even noticeable. The headlights really make the difference. The solution for the Maverick would have been to keep the similar dimensions to fill that gap. The F150 did it perfect with the same "fang" style DRL's (which I'm leaning towards hating given the cost of replacements).
Overall though, a lot of folks willing to overlook this.
