Hello everyone!

I'm in Corpus Christi and ordered an Iconic Silver hybrid XLT through Autonation Ford in early November. I didn't receive any confirmation after our initial conversations but after asking for some kind of confirmation in late December, the Ford order confirmation email showed up. I assume the salesman didn't include my email when he submitted the order.

I know I'm probably in for a long wait. I hope the dealer isn't too difficult to deal with when the time comes.

Paul in Houston, we got our base XL hybrid from Legacy Ford in Rosenberg on Wednesday 1/12/22. The experience has been “long” waiting for the delivery. We ordered on June 14th. The salesman tried to add on some extras he said he couldn’t remove, but the GM took over and dropped it down to the MSRP. We are very pleased with the truck and MPG. We took her to the beach recently via the Galveston ferry.

since you picked up the truck recently can you check how many power adapter cables came with the truck. The cables should be in the glove compartment or below the rear seat. The cables are supposed to be used for using the 12V power in the bed.

One power adapter cable in the glove. Nothing under the rear seat.

740 miles! WOW! I knew it was a long ways but I never actually looked up exactly how far. About once a year I get to El Paso, well, the airport anyway. I fly from Dallas to El Paso, rent a car there and drive to Ruidoso, NM where I visit some very good friends of mine for a week or so. 740 miles. Really? Sure gives you a sense of how big Texas really is.
Marty, I grew up in far West Texas in a little town called Plains near Hobbs and Lovington NM. Dad used to trade and race horses at Ruidoso and our Boy Scout troop used to ski there. Great golf course that I love. In 2000 or so I started project development work on a project in Artesia NM. I hadn't been to Plains for years so I got in contact with a friend that has a business in Denver City and we made plans for dinner. To my surprise, when I got to the restaurant there were 9 of my classmates from the early 60s there. Pretty good since there were only about 35 in my Plains class. Interesting where memories come from.

Purchased a Velocity Blue XL from Toliver Ford in Mineola. Signed and placed the order on Oct. 6, received my XL on Nov. 10.

Yes, because SUVs inspire strong mall crawling and epic Target runs. Everything else would not be considered “a real grocery getter” and is a “dollar store picker”. 🙄

What in the hell is wrong with people and their stupid egos?
What's wrong with goat ropers? 🤠

I can't believe that it only took you a month from order to delivery. I sure did make a mistake! I might order a Jeep. Toliver sells them too so I might stop in some day and talk to them. I LOVE Ruidoso. The elk are all over the golf courses there. I like the links and Cree Meadow golf courses. But my favorite is Cloudcroft! I hope someday to take a Maverick there but it is becoming more and more doubtful as time goes by. If I get the jeep, the Maverick is history.

Glad that you got it after the long wait. Your pictures look great. I ordered this model in Oct, but am still waiting for it. Luckily, I was able to buy a "refused" Lariat Hybrid last week. Interesting differences, see my dash shot. Cannot say better or worse, because I prefer the analog fuel gauge, like on yours. The "low" MPG of 32.2 was after a 600 mile trip with a 1200 lb load. Not bad!

Power adapter cable for bed....how did you know? I read about a "tailgate plug located in the glove compartment", see attached manual, and have been trying to figure out why a cover plug had a long wire attached! Know I now it in not the cover plug, but now that search begins. Thanks for the info.

I'm not sure how many orders Toliver had, I know of one more in August, but they did tell me they were not near their allotment. I did a little research and determined if I wanted one soon, to order an XL with as few accessories as possible. So, things like the production hold ups like the spray-in bed liner and tonneau cover, I let the dealer take care of.

I ordered my truck with Morgan who is the internet sales rep, but I think a clerk. As soon as the truck came in, she passed me off to Josh. A young man, very personable, quick to respond, and friendly. I had a signed sales order and Josh was very helpful in getting a fair offer for my trade, as I had a very good offer from CarMax in Tyler. Considering savings in sales tax, they nearly matched the CarMax offer. In financing, we faced the typical higher pressure of purchasing extended warranty, etc., but I guess every dealer does that.

I love the Inn of the Mountain Gods Course. Beautiful scenry.

I wish I had used one of the small dealers. I could have easily used JO Williams, or Tolliver, but was trying to stay closer to work for repair reasons. I've received my truck this week,, but over the whole experience I felt the dealer I used didn't care that much about my purchase. Yes, they wanted to sell the truck, but, meh...we have people spending more on broncos and SuperDuties. I wish I HAD gone to a small dealer.
MimiE, I got the same feeling when I first started to call around about the Maverick. One of the first I talked to about the Maverick when I told him I wanted to order an XL said, "Not much margin on the XL, isn't there anyway I could talk you into the Lariat? It's a much nicer little truck." We continued to talk, but it was apparent to me he didn't want to order the XL. I had purchased several Chrysler products from their dealership next door to the Toliver Ford dealership. Glad I did, even after the sale, they continue to be responsive to my wants and needs.

I've noticed in reading through several threads that there are a bunch of us Texans who have either ordered a Maverick or are about to. I thought it would be interesting if all Texans would list their location (city or town), the dealer they are working with, what build they have already ordered or have in mind, and anything else that might be interesting or helpful to fellow Texans. I think good dealer experience would be helpful to others as well as dealers you would not recommend. Not sure if this is allowed in the forum rules to talk bad about specific dealers but we'll soon find out!

I live in a golf course community known as Holly Lake Ranch. It is a very pretty place nestled in the Piney Woods of east Texas, roughly half way between Shreveport, LA. and Dallas, Texas. All the dealers around here are small, country mom and pop businesses. If you go to the "city" such as Longview or Tyler, there are a few bigger dealerships but I have found them to be no better than our more rural "locals". I ordered my Lariat from Texas Country Ford, Winnsboro, Tx. Once they got the hang of the Maverick ordering system they did very well and I have received confirmation from Ford that my order has been accepted. I have already recommended them to several forum members here in Texas looking to order a Maverick.

Another reason for my starting this thread is that I recall my early days at the Honda Ridgeline forum about 15 years ago where threads like this were started in various states. We Ridgeline owners would often get together for lunches and compare and show off our Ridgelines, mods and accessories. We all learned a great deal from each other. We would also go to car shows and do various other things as a group and the Ridgeline caravan was quite impressive. It was a good time and some of us even went on hunting trips together and shared other interests. Maybe something social like this can happen down the road with Texas Maverick owners. Anyway, Texas Mavericks is a cool name (not only for the basketball team) and deserves a thread of its own - so here it is Texas!!!
Proud owner of a maverick in Ft Bend County!

Beautiful XL. I purchased a Velocity Blue XL, 2.0, EB, but in the past have owned several silver trucks toyed with ordering one. The black trim pieces really make the silver pop. I'm jealous of the mpg of the Hybrid.
