The meter does not hold 7500 miles worth of data. Something like only the most recent 3 or 5 tankfuls or 10,000 minutes of data, something like that but it's unpublished what the actual value is. So the dash is "fresher" more recent than you think. Sadly, no lifetime stats except if you manually keep records.

My mileage varies a lot.

If it's a cool evening in the 80's, and I'm timing lights on a (45mph speed limit) across town and back trip with no traffic I easily get over 50mpg-

When it's 117 degrees and I'm driving (fast) with traffic on the freeway, 25mpg is about right...

Two tanks near 30MPG were towing on the highway. I used to struggle to see this kind of highway MPG in a Ford Focus. Now I can do it while towing? Crazy….

I've had mine since February '22. I'd estimate my driving over that time is about 70/30 City/Hwy, and the average over the 10k miles or so reads 44.6 on the dash. I calculated manually at every fill-up for the first year or so, and it always came out about 2 mpg under the dash readout every time. So I can say pretty confidently that I'm sitting at a little over 42 mpg lifetime right now...significantly better than EPA. I drive almost exclusively in "normal" mode, use regular gas, and make little effort to economize. I've found that "Eco" makes very little difference for me, and I prefer the throttle response and regen in normal mode anyway, so I figure why bother switching for only a few pennies?
And for the record, I can't for the life of me figure out how they came up with 33 mpg hwy, as I've taken a number of long-ish highway trips and I've never come close to that. I'm always at 40 or better.
The first photo is the lifetime readout, and the second is the current tank nearing the end. How's that for an honest report?
Needles to say, I'm totally satisfied!

I think most people here understand you don't take the single screenshots of short trips as gospel - let folks have fun with their shock/introduction of the efficiency of mostly electric driving.

Plenty of long-term hand calculated datasets on here with quick search if some one is serious about determining mileage. That is awesome! I'm getting mine next week so my summer mileage should be comparable to yours. Winter always takes a 10% or more hit with all my former vehicles so I'm prepared for that too. Lol

Hello: I've seen several posts stating my Maverick Hybrid got 45 MPG, 57 MPG and more. They back them up with pictures of their dash. The only way to have your REAL MPG is by filling up your tank and filling it up again, and doing the math with your total mileage. Anyone can post a picture of their dash for a short trip and have it show 40, 50, and more MPG. I can drive around my neighborhood, never going over 30 MPH, trying my best to stay on electric power and show a bogus dash picture. I've owned hybrids for 15 years. I can post a picture of my PriusV, going down hill and it says my MPG is 99 MPG. If you want to give an honest MPG value, give us a gas tank refill, do the math with your total miles driven and then state what kind of MPG you are getting. Don't go posting a 30 or 60 mile trip and post a picture. I just don't want some people thinking their hybrids are living up to standards.

Good point.on a side note,I had an 82 rabbit,gas engine,manual transmission that I could get 50 mpg,and also an 04 ion,manual transmission that also broke 50 mpg, by using your method of measuring mpg.youd think these hybrids would at least beat that old technology by now.i know the rabbit was very light and primitive compared to today's cars.but the Saturn was more modern.

New mav for me on first tank. BUT it looks like I will get at least 600 miles on the 13.2 gallon tank. Last car a 2020 ecosport same 13.2 tank I would be going for gas at 290. BUT sure manual calculation is best

I now have two driving trips on the truck. My first 100% freeway driving was 38.8 mpg the second was 37mpg.
The trip with 38mpg had the bed of the truck loaded with fire wood. I thought that the extra weight would severely impact my mpg however it didn’t seem to matter. The 37 mpg trip I believe was impacted by the weather. I was driving into the wind during a thunderstorm.
One thing that I have noticed is my bed cover blows up like a balloon on the highway. If that is happening there might be some parachute effect issues. Other than folding up the cover when removing things from the bed I have never messed with the cover. I have checked everything and the mounting hardware is tight. I don’t know why that is happening.
I am happy with the highway milage. The mileage rivals or exceeds the fuel economy that I was getting when I had my Escort diesel.
The best part is the driving range most of the time I am driving between 500 and 600 miles per tank.
Though it probably doesn’t satisfy lawyers and engineers it’s fun trying to see what kind of mileage I can hit driving the truck in any circumstance. My for those kind of trips is 79 mpg. Those short runs that get 50 to whatever mpg are the reason we bought the truck. Please don’t take away those moments of satisfaction. Those are when we know that we are poking the eye of the oil companies.

The overall, since new MPGs for my hybrid is about 37mpg per the truck's display screen. That's over 10000 miles; roughly 50% highway at 75-80mph and the other 50% running around town.
