my mid-twentys, apartment in the chic warehouse building on the river, up and coming sales engineer, daughter's boyfriend stuck his head in and in complete surprise said, 'this is really cool! I really like this!'. I about fell over. Anyway, for a base vehicle (I owned barebones, not even a radio, ford escort 4sp manual), this is pretty awesome. My wifes car is the 'good' vehicle, but this is the one car that I have owned that she likes to drive.

I find it really cool that they had the courage to include the faceted dashboard element... it's a very quirky and unusual thing to do. Do you love it, or hate it?

I think the texturing and color are distinctive and look good in my Lariat. It's really hard to believe the whole thing was made from paper mache and cardboard!

The XL’s interior is a bit more subdued. I like it, the dark blue offsets the black and dark grey nicely, and the design work itself make something hard and cheap look fun and interesting. The XLTs interior is brighter, but I’m not really a fan of the orange accents. I do like the Lariat’s color scheme, though.

Overall, I like it, and I think the interior of a Maverick is a nice place to spend time, which is more than I can say about other, similarly priced vehicles where the cabin may have opted for leather in one or two places but is otherwise a sea of black plastic and feels like the inside of a coffin.

By the way, I've owned a lot of vehicles in my day, both pricey and not so pricey. I don't find the Maverick interior plastic scratches any more easily than other vehicles of recent vintage.
This.

I've had my Lariat 3 days and I clocked the hell out of the upper door panel with my burly Garmin watch and dreaded to see what I did to it. happy to report not a scratch. I think it will do fine over time as long as you aren't overly rough on it.
