I’m sure the paint from 1970 was tougher than the thin paint we have today.
1970's paint had a lot of orange peel. It got better when clear coat became the norm later, but in the 90's when they were required to reduce VOC's drastically they got worse for years with paint coming off badly on many cars. I like red but it attracts radar guns. Today's car paint is good but too many grays & whites. Tough to find your vehicle in parking lot. Area 51 color works for me though.

I had three Cordoba's. two '75's and a '77. The '77 was silver with a red veluor interior. I painted the backside of the interior light covers with red nail polish. My Dad said it looked like a french whorehouse inside, LOL. :ROFLMAO:

Anybody remember the paint fiasco with GM in the early 80's. Geez louis it was bad. I had a silver Olds Cutlass that had half the paint fly of the hood exposing the black primer under it. Looked like crap!

Glad those days are gone.
