That was weird. Wiring a GPS, and finding visitors.

I wanted to better hide the wires from my GPS and Dash cam. So I removed the necessary panels, top tray, "entertainment" head unit and finished the job. While I had the glove box out, I decided I may as well change the cabin air filter. That turned out to be a good idea and mice had chewed holes through it in two places. The next surprise was when reinstalling things, I had the radio panel on the seat and accidentally leaned on the volume on/off knob on the dash. The radio started playing the station I usually listen to. What? BTW, the USB ports on the left side do not supply charging. I had to go back to the 12 volt socket for that, with an adapter.

According to the owner's manual for the XLT version, the USB ports are for data trans only. There is no fuse for charging , only the 20 amp fuse for the Audio Unit. It tried to connect the GPS for data when I plugged it in, and got a message no charging available.

Odd, since ALL the USB ports in my 23 XLT provide charging, and only the one on the left of the center console provides data. Might be an issue with the cable your using to connect the dashcam?? 🤔

 that's weird. are you sure? my my22 usb ports can be used for data or charging. i've used both often.

MY22 Manual

CHARGING A DEVICE
Connect your device to the USB port.
You can use the charger when the vehicle
is in accessory mode, when the vehicle is
running, or when SYNC is on.

The USB Ports could be in the following
locations:
• On the lower instrument panel.
• Inside the media bin.
• Inside the center console.
Note: These USB ports can also charge
devices.
Note: Not all USB ports in your vehicle have
data transfer capabilities.
Note: We recommend using only USB-IF
certified cables and adapters. Non-certified
cables and adapters may not work.

I'll have to do some troubleshooting. I'll try a different cable.
