I just want to meet one person who actually paid those prices and just figure that line of thought. Super interesting.
Well, I don't have mine yet- waiting to get scheduled- but I can tell you my thought process on what I would pay. Before Maverick was unveiled as a real product I had been playing with Build & price tool on Rangers. Every couple months I would run it again and my price for XL Supercab with no frills always came in around 25k OTD. I used that as a benchmark of sorts as I wasn't ready to buy yet anyways. Also thought about 2021 Frontiers knowing it had the improved drive train, but was last year being sold before new 2022 model showing up. I was seeing some within 100 miles of me (no stripped trucks like I wanted) and they were listed from $28-31k generally being they had some options on them. I was getting a house ready for sale and would buy a new truck with some windfall proceeds from the crazy housing market. I just decided $30k of proceeds would go towards the new truck +/- depending on truck and circumstances. I considered it be "free money" from house appreciation.

When Maverick was finally introduced, I went back to build & Price tool and built an XL Eco AWD with some extras on it I wanted. Ran it several times in fact and it came out anywhere between $24-27k depending on configuration. Eventually settled on 1 to order @ $26.5k OTD. Would I have paid more if I felt it was worth it and available right then? Probably, as I was already under budget by $3.5k anyways and ADM of $3k was STILL under budget of free money. $10k or more? Probably not as I only had to wait to get my order filled anyways and not in a huge hurry anyways. Dealer had a walk away they offered me for $42k but it was a tarted up Lariat and I have no use for all those options on there so I declined.

I guess the moral of my story is if you have the $ and not gonna matter in the big picture and you think it is worth it to pay more to YOU- then go for it. Each person has their own idea of WORTH it in mind and it may not matter if that was under or OVER MSRP based on their unique criteria.

I feel like I know the answer in my heart, but I'm gonna ask it anyway.

Are there literally any Mavericks (new and/or slightly used) that are available on lots that aren't already reserved or ordered and waiting to be picked up?

I'm looking for a new vehicle, and the Maverick is ticking all the boxes for me. Looking on Autotrader, almost every listing for a Maverick within 300 miles of me is either already listed as reserved, sale pending, or "not in stock, either on order or in transit". I've seen a few that say in stock, but they usually have just a stock photo of a Maverick, so I wonder if it's too good to be true.

Are dealerships posting vehicles online that are already spoken for to generate interest in hopes that if the original buyer backs out, they've already got people ready to buy it?

Thanks.
If you don't mind driving to Jacksonville, Coggin Ford just messaged me saying they have a Silver XLT hybrid available for $25,700. Sounds like its at MSRP. Contact 904-534-5153 if interested.

Thanks for the tip! I left a message. I’m in Houston but willing to travel.
