I searched the forums before posting, this and the last mentions of Terravis were from July, so I hope this isn't a repost.

It looks like Terravis is planning to produce their system for the Maverick. Though, Terravis also seems to be a new product/start-up, so who knows if any orders will be fulfilled. Their website indicates production is set to begin in Feb 2022.

Also...a starting price of $3500 is a little steep unless you have a need for carrying around 1.5kWh's of power.

Thanks for posting. This is interesting. I'm just wondering how durable the panels are. I have a few solar panels that sit out in the sun 24/7/365 and the sun has beat them up pretty bad. I also think they don't perform as good as they did when they were new.

As for price, yes pretty high. But have you priced an electric tonneau cover? Same price and is only a tonneau cover that opens and closes with the push of a button. This comes with so much more. I'll be watching this close.

I certainly use solar panels in my house. But to be honest, I am not particularly happy about this startup. I'm not ready to spend so much money on it. I'm sometimes stingy in Indiana to buy a solar panel. Although the prices there are some of the cheapest. Solar panels are actually a necessary thing. And it's pretty economical.
If buying solar panels is too expensive for you, then consider the Easy Power Plan, which allows you to build your own power supply. It was created for people who are looking for a reliable power scheme with minimal costs.

No go for me. The battery and inverter is not water resistant. I live in very high humidity in a foggy rain forest. It rains frequently, even when it's not supposed to. You cannot have anything here that is used outside that cannot get wet. It will be covered in condensate probably 8 months a year. Not to mention if the tonneau leaks or I accidentally leave it open and unattended for 5 minutes. Or be transporting something with it open and it starts raining.

Solar panels definitely wear out over time. You can get thin, flexible 100w panels fairly cheap on ebay. I kind of view those as kind of disposable.

It would be easy to attach a few to a trifold tonneau, but a vehicle mounted solar system only really make sense with a hybrid or EV, unless you want it for camping.

The issue here is that the key to any solar panel system is the battery pack and where are you going to put it? Batteries are big and heavy.
