Temperature sensor issue with S&B cold air intake

After having a local installer put my S&B cold air intake on I got a check engine light for the temperature sensor. The installer did everything he could to get the S&B extension that came with the intake kit to “Click” properly on the sensor but it was happening.

When I called S&B they shipped a new one to me overnight free of charge. It should be here sometime today or Monday.

Has anyone else had the same issue?

Yes - same thing happened to me- in my case they disconnected the battery for 2 hours and then reconnected it- problem solved

In the instruction it states you need to disconnect for 2 hours to prevent exactly this problem.

Disconnected for two hours did not fix it.

Going to try getting the code cleared then retry the two hour battery disconnect next.

I have the S&B and installed it myself. I disconnected the battery and did not throw a code. It was disconnected way more than 2 hrs......lol...that pipe connected to the turbo is a PITA

I do not think the installer disconnected the battery first. The check engine light came on as I was driving away. I left the battery unplugged for about 2 hours and twenty minutes today. When I hooked it back up the engine light was still on.

At 4:08 of the above video he disconnect an electrical connector that I almost forgot about. Just by chance maybe the installer forgot it also.

OMG, that turbo pipe was a beeeotch!

You got a new one or the installer never used it?

I got on the phone with S&B and the next day aired me a new one for free.

Do you mean the rubber piece that connects the IAT to the intake just downstream of the filter?

Must have the battery disconnected for a minimum of 2 hours. After changes to the exhaust system same thing if you want the computer to begin reading the new airflow instead of using the old readings which have changed.
