Big fan of Telo here. I sincerely hope they make it to market and get the truck on the road. What's really cool is that they designed this to be easily offered as a two door.

It pains me to say that there's a very high probability they fail, and fail fast. That company is 11 people right now. But I'm cheering them on.

I really like the Telo. Glad they're getting closer to getting this thing to market.

Like it's always risky with these vehicle startups, but considering how much of this thing is from off the shelf parts, it actually has a good chance of happening. I'm rooting for them because when I'm ready to replace my Maverick in like ten years, something like this would be nice.

The cheapest one is supposed to be around 41k. It will fail at that price. I was thinking jt would be in the 20k range while watching the video. They can instantly cut the price by making an actual normal roof instead of that stupid all glass roof like all the dumb EVs do…

Ironic, I just saw this TFL Truck video this morning. I was intrigued and overall the Telo looks very promising. Unfortunately, the electric car market is volatile. Rivian loses its shirt on every vehicle it sells, ditto with Lucid.

What I do like is the small footprint, useable space and off the shelf components Telo uses. This right size is also why the Maverick sells and the reason I bought one.

Pretty neat concept. I know Nathan is a big guy, but that cab sure looks tight-I wonder how useful the back seat will really be. I find the inclusion of a moon roof as standard surprising/ill advised. I love to see innovatiive vehicles and wish them well, but at over 41k starting price, commercial success will be tough.

I'm scared to get excited after what happened to Canoo. I lost a couple loan payments on them.

I think their best shot right now is almost as a glorified kit car. Remember that they're in southern California, where money flows like wine. And the need to be hip and have plenty of green cred is insanely important. Southern CA - the home of the dune buggy, the original VW Bus, etc. Telo can surely make it there on a small scale.

So I predict they'll sell hundreds to thousands of units without even needing to leave the state. But then I'm wondering if they can get the capital to scale. On the national scale, Ford has already announced their small BEV trucklet at a lower price. And Hyundai will certainly electrify the Santa Cruz. And you know the Rivian R2 will be "truckified" at some point. I suspect Telo will be uncompetitive with the big guys come 2027 or 2028. OTOH, never underestimate the ability of the big boys to screw the pooch.

All that said, I'm cheering them on. I love the ingenuity and bravery. Damn the torpedoes, Telo, full speed ahead!

You aren't getting an electric vehicle with that big a battery for $20k. :ROFLMAO: I agree about the stupid roof though. I have zero interest in a vehicle with a panoramic roof, since I don't even want a basic sunroof on my vehicle.

I found the editing of this video very choppy, almost irritatingly so.
That aside this seems to an interesting concept.
I think $41k is overpriced.
Let's hope they do away with the need for a rear wheel chock if they are successful in making it to production.

Ok I gotta be me and be honest.
I think it’s butt ugly.
Looks very Unsafe in a front end crash.
And way over priced.
I bet there will be many come and go EV’s as time goes on and gas prices go up.
But I’d not ever consider a flat nose vehicle with my feet that close to the front.
It has a go cart look with the front wheels out there like that.
I’d bet the NTSB crash testing will fail it outright.

Anyone remember the Yugo ?
Company pulls out of the US and Yugo owners couldn’t even get brake pads.

No thank you, I’ll keep my Fords

As you may recall, the first gen Econolines, including this beauty, were based on the Falcon. 7' bed, 163 inches OA length, straight six, absolutely no back up camera recalls.

We had these during the cold war in what was then West Germany.
It would climb any hill, at 50 KPH/30 MPH @ W.O.T. Could hit 125 KPH, 140 on a down hill run.
Ultra reliable, Butt Ugly, Great on fuel, about 12 Kilometers per Liter. Basically you drove every where with your foot mashing the go pedal Into the floor boards, hard !

I Think they had a 60 HP motor. LoL

In my Army days, I drove the predecessor to this, the original VW Bus. I remember the transmission throws were something like two feet. You got a flexibility workout just shifting. And yea, I remember merging was an adventure.
