I posted about this sunshade when I first installed it, but now that I’ve had more time with it I figured I’d give a better update.
So far I’m still really happy with it. I originally thought it would just be a cool little mod, but I’ve actually ended up using it a lot more than I expected.
Before this I had a regular folding sunshade, and honestly I barely used it. Half the time I didn’t feel like pulling it out, setting it up, and then finding somewhere to put it again when I got back in the truck.
With this one, I just park, close it, and I’m done. That’s probably my favorite part about it.
The install takes a little patience just to make sure everything is lined up right, but once I had mine set up I really haven’t had to mess with it. It’s been opening and closing smoothly and stays out of the way when I’m driving.
I also like not having a big folding sunshade sitting behind the seat or getting thrown around inside the truck anymore. It’s a small thing, but it makes the whole setup feel a lot cleaner.
After using it for a while, I’d say the biggest reason to get something like this is convenience. Obviously a normal sunshade can do the same basic job for a lot less, so I wouldn’t say everyone needs an electric one. But if you use a sunshade all the time and like little convenience mods, I actually really like this setup.
I’ve added a lot of stuff to my Maverick over time, and this has surprisingly become one of those things I use almost every day.
Overall I’m still really happy with it. I’ll attach some updated pictures and a quick video below so you guys can see how it looks and how it works on the Maverick.
If anyone has any questions about the install or wants to know anything about it, just let me know.
