I personally would not trailer a motorcycle transeverly like this photo. The possibility of it falling off due to the center of gravity is my concern. If you get hit from behind, it's going to fall on to the car that hit you, or your car. If the straps loosed up, or you panic stop, not to mention it blocks you view behind you.

Yeah, but having an 8x6 just to haul the bike on increases the chances of it being hit by a meteorite by 60%.

Interesting application. Like the winch feature (for one-person load/unload), not sure about a heavy bike being transverse in a quick/panic stop situation.

Back in the day when I rode (and was very space/storage-limited garage-wise), used a Trailer-In-A-Bag (TIAB). Around 140# total weight (lots of pieces) that was stored in a big duffle-type bag. At the time, just under $1k new (don't make them anymore, still a few you'll find on ebay, craigslist, etc).

At the time had a 2003 Tacoma 4 door with a small (Maverick-like) bed. Lived in Katy TX area, spied a low miles euro-spec 1985 BMW K100RS in Ventura County CA. Threw the TIAB in back of the Taco, drove to CA, test-drove then bought the K100RS, assembled the trailer in motel parking lot, loaded the bike up and then trailered it home a couple thousand miles. No real issues other than plenty of periodic stops to re-tighten the tiedowns.

there is always the swivel wheel style platforms, sort of like the tag axle idea, but the wheels caster.

They emailed me back.
They've never done a Maverick but were willing to give it a try.

Biggest downside is: you have to go to them in Iowa. No shipping. While the wheels are universal (in three sizes) the brackets are custom fit to each vehicle. So your vehicle needs to be in their shop for at least one day. Hence no shipping.
