pretty much have the same one. The foam under the edge wouldn’t get in the way. Even if it does it will seal around the fins but the fins don’t even go in that far.
If anything I’ll get a better shot of mine later for you.

That will definitely give the rear downforce you need.

It’s about rear air turbulence reduction, not downforce.

Spoilers on non-high performance cars are there for decreased drag and better fuel economy.

My OEM rear spoiler netted me around 5mpg at 75mph highway speeds.

Hopefully the OP’s unit is as well designed for that as the OEM spoiler.

How’s it look?

It looks good, and the color matched letters are great!
Having gone from no letter inserts, to black inserts, and now color matched inserts, I like the matched best.
Color matched is THE WAY.

Most aftermarket, probably not.
But, apparantly Air Design/ Ford OEM does.

Ford not only has a wind tunnel but also the computing capability and knowledge to design aerodynamic parts with, or without, tunnel testing.

As I said, I got substantially better highway MPG after installing mine, it absolutely smooths out airflow off the rear.

Rear spoilers also add an element of visual bed extension, which is attractive on a short stubby bed. Regular Mavs look chopped off to me now, so, to me, rear spoilers are also a very helpful appearance option as well.

Please explain why if an OEM could simply bolt on an accessory that cost them $35 to produce and netted an additional 5 MPG (+20%) to their average EPA mileage numbers for that model they wouldn't incorporate it into very vehicle..

My test results included 3, 100 mile, round trips, no cruise control, with the same route, wind speed, (none), air temperature, and traffic patterns, with and without the spoiler.

It was a serious controlled test, the best I could do.

I also have a very flush Ford tourneau cover which integrates perfectly with the OEM spoiler which probably helps.

Since my main reason for buying the spoiler was improved MPG, I was fully prepared to rip the thing off if it lowered my MPG and mark it down to a failed marketing ripoff.

Although I hoped for 1-2 mpg improvement, I was shocked, and happily surprised at the 5mpg advancement.

Even if you don’t see any MPG improvement, and hopefully no negative results, the appearance will still be worth it.

Look at the tailgate lip of every late model, higher end, full size truck you see. There is a spoiler built right into the sheet metal in the same shape as the add on Mav unit.

The design works.

Mavericks are budget trucks. Fleet MPG numbers vary with every vehicle a manufacturer makes. They only care about meeting the fleet EPA demand for that year.
Ford meets, or exceeds, the EPA demand on every Maverick model, without the extra spoiler, that’s all they care about.

Just checked before a wash and it’s actually cleaner.

I didn’t claim a 20% increase, I said I got 5mpg better on the highway at 75mph.
I get a lot better gas mileage than the epa estimates anyway.

Yes, the tailgate stays much cleaner, showing that the airflow, (and dirt), isn’t swirling back on itself.
Sounds like it is doing its job.

If it doesn’t go under your vehicle, or plaster itself against the grill, you’ll notice that light road debris like plastic bags, paper scraps and such, fly over your truck and, instead of hitting the vortex behind the tailgate, and tumbling around in that turbulence, will sail smoothly past your tail end. I’ve seen things sail back 30-40 feet before encountering turbulent air.
