No issues with mine. And I use it all the time. Tools in back and a roll cover. XL

The Blue truck in my photo was an XL and I never had that problem the enitre 4 months that I had it.

Nope lariat locks all with fob and with electric button on driver's door and also with exterior pad. The manual lock button only individually locks it's own door. Tail gate will not lock if is open! I did take the valet key out of the fob and tried it on drivers door and it worked. Did not try valet key on tailgate.

Nope, not on my XL.

My 99 lightning does the same thing.sits about a month and for some reason its locked.seems to be a minor problem on some f150

Seems odd, since the XL doesn't have a power locking tailgate. Not sure how that is possible.

I did take the valet key out of the fob and tried it on driver's door and it worked. Did not try valet key on tailgate.

I tried that key in the door and tailgate. Seems to work for both which is concerning if I lock up my stuff in the bed and the valet has the key to it as well as the truck.

If you have an XL, it doesn’t have an electric lock. You can only use the key.

Given that the truck doesn't come with a valet key, not sure why you you were expecting a different result than this.

No problem with my XL. I think it's a "pigment of your imagination."

So it really is an emergency key for all locks and not a "valet" key at all. Just thought it was and now I know differently. I will be careful when I go to those fancy hotels then. Like I do that all the time. More like never. I would sleep in the back first.
