Must be a few guys here that have ordered and installed the plastic tailgate liner - how do you like it? How was the install & fit?

I ordered that yesterday, put a $20 deposit down as it's backordered, no idea if and when I get it. I like to do the tailgate cooking thing, want to protect the paint.

Got my "backordered" tailgate liner in, picked it up at the dealer, got 'er installed. Very quick and easy installation. Torx 25 required to remove the 8 factory installed fasteners, Torx 20 required to install the supplied fasteners. This is money well spent IMO:

The instructions aren't included, gotta scan the QR code to take you to the Ford accessory install website. Not much to the instructions anyways. The only tip I can provide is to make sure it's centered horizontally, and parallel with the top lip of the tailgate.

I bought rubber floor matt materiel from Princess Auto, sold by the foot from a roll. PA is similar to Harbor Freight. Cheap effective solution.

I ordered the protector from my dealer. He told me that Ford has to setup an order with the third party vendor who builds these. Either way my order has been in for about three weeks now. No word yet

I like the dibl but a word of caution on the tailgate cover install…do not over tighten the screws as the retaining clip will strip out pretty easily…I should have hand tightened rather than using electric.

Just opened my tailgate cover to install. The wrong bag of hardware was in there tailgate cover .

How hard is it to put the correct hardware in with the tailgate liner?

I can't speak for the quality but this might be worth a shot for less than $9. I know it's not OEM but the price is right, especially if somebody needs something while waiting on an official Ford part.

I was hoping someone who got the correct hardware would post the part number on the bag so it would be easy for parts to ship it to me. I didn’t go any farther into seeing if something else would work, thanks

Thanks for posting this! I purchased a DURAliner drop in 1 piece bedliner and the tailgate cover section is absolute junk and doesn't fit. Pre-Drilled holes for the 8 fasteners are way off center on the outermost ends, there is extra material along the top edge that wasn't trimmed correctly, the plastic inserts for fasteners are the wrong size so you can tighten it down completely, and the cover itself is too narrow on the sides and has less coverage than this FORD product.

Guess I have something to buy with all those Fordpass points they gave me for buying my Mav

The directions give a different number. In pic
