Tailgate bumper fell off

Has this happened to anyone ? Must have bumped it and broke the plastic fastener .
Had a fastener in my collection that worked after reducing the OD of the fastener head .
Kinda flimsy , will use gorilla glue if it happens again .
No big whoop ...

The first time, the Dealer replaced it. Second time used a plastic rivet.

This happened to me (left side) and finally the part just disappeared. I keep meaning to ping the dealer about it but haven’t done it yet.

I had `that happen on the right side, it’s still there with a little help from hope and a prayer and alien tape. I never thought about mentioning it at dealership, But then I go to Bill Knight here Oklahoma since I moved here.

Yeah I had one come off after about a year of owning my 22 XLT. Dealer replaced under warranty

Oh wow. I have the right one broken already. Just a week old 2025 tremor. What does this part do?

It keeps tension on the latch striker so it doesn't rattle when the tailgate is closed.
