It's not hard using the usb stick if you know how to move files and extract them. Took 20 minutes once the stick was prepared. Interesting what you said about the Lariat. Why even have wifi then? It don't even fail just says your up to date when it's not. I am just used to when getting new tech it always has updates. Only issue I have is sometimes the center display does not propery display the correct song while the touch screen does. Not sure if it would fix that.

From 23 on there is no WiFi. How does this get updated without WiFi?
No. Wi-Fi hotspot was removed. Not the same thing.

The update will not correct your display issue. I have the same issue. My 22 Lincoln Corsair which I've had for almost 2 years has the same glitch.

Thanks did not think it would. Only issue I've had with the Mav. Small issue

I have tried everything new USB flash drive
CANNOT PLAY MP3'S FROM ANY FLASH DRIVE
Made sure the USB drive was FAT32 deleted my phone added it back on did all the updates still Ford carplay or whatever it is never sees my USB What a waste I moved on
that is not at all what this topic is discussing.

I have tried everything
I bought the update from Ford. It was 40 dollars and it works great. Just plug it in and it takes about 45 min.
I have spotty wifi so this is the easiest to way to update

Yes. It's not very widespread, but definitely some trucks have had bad USB ports. Actually pretty sure it's across the board of Ford models. Some fail.

try a hard reset of the stereo, that fixed a similar issue for me. I think it’s holding power button plus fast forward/seek for ~5 seconds

Well looks like the usb method worked. Went from version 21194to 23188. Shame the auto update did not work. Maybe this will fix that.

Since I have had my 22 Lariat Lux I have never has an update on the sync 3. I am confused as to what version I have as it does not match the versions even remotely from what others have posted. If anyone can explain this I'd be grateful. See attached photo. Thanks

I wasn’t able to get any Wi-Fi updates until I installed the new sync version from the USB that I downloaded from the Ford support site after that the Wi-Fi loaded map updates and other stuff. Hope that’s helpful. Maybe try the USB port for your first time sync update.
