Ok, I don't understand what SYNC I have, or weather I even have SYNC on my MY24 Mav XLT EB Lux.
In the 2024 Manual, on page 386, it talks about "Creating a Vehicle Wi-Fi Hotspot-Vehicles with SYNC3" and at the end of the page, it says the same thing for "SYNC2.5". Neither of those instructions, match to the options available via my Maverick interface display.

Also on page 407 of the manual, it talks about SYNC3, but again my system does not match that either.

So how do I find out what SYNC, if any, that I have?
I don't see any "SYNC" information via the Maverick Interface.

I need a SYNC for dummies book.

Howdy! So, since you stated you have an XLT, you have the SYNC2.5 system. SYNC3 is only available on the Lariat trim. In terms of finding the correct SYNC version within the system, there should be a gear icon on one of the screens. That icon is the settings menu. Within that menu, there should be an option to check version.

Cheers, hope this answers your question.

Been trying to upgrade my sync3 for quite awhile. Tried with a usb stick, then doing it over wifi. No luck so far,
I can upgrage my OS, many programs, my laptop, my phone, my TV, my Garmin gps, my FitPro watch, and other things. The Ford? Nope.
Might as well go to a junk yard and find an AM only radio from a '55 Buick.

Wi-Fi Hotspot was an option in some vehicles, I would guess you don't have that option.

This is correct. The XLT does not come with Fords Sync3 system. You will not be able to update it via a usb stick either. The only way to get updates for the XLT system is by connecting your vehicle to a wi-fi network and download the update.

Iirc someone has updated the Sync 2.5 to Sync 4 using a module but I haven't seen someone go from 3 to 4 yet.
