This is the first vehicle that I have ever put a catch can on. I checked it back in October and it had maybe a half teaspoon of oil/fluid in it. I didn't do anything with it. After all of the really cold weather that we have had this winter, I decided to check both of the cans. The dirty side was over half full of a what was mostly golden water with a bit of crud and a weird smell. It smelled of oil, gas and something strange like bad, raw hamburger. This surprised me. I wasn't going to look at it for another month or so.
The clean side had nothing it it, maybe a bit of mist.
I wanted to mention this because if you are new to these, and you live in a cold climate, it is a good idea to check every 1,000 miles or so.
