🤓 Search videos from Long MacArthur (Ford) , he tells a lot of how to’s and not to’s on ordering. If I remember he said not to order bed covers, I believe even bed liners, that it would , could slow down the process. That video was with in the last couple of weeks. He’s there internet guy, he has a lady that helps him.
hope this helps…
Anyone ordering a Maverick should be watching his videos lol Tim is awesome

Most likely it is the bed cover and PPF, that is holding you up. They only make a certain percentage with those. Since you have those, and other options like the bed extender, the odds of yours being scheduled is low. I would drop all 3 of those if you want a much better chance of getting scheduled. The cover and extender are easy to add. I saw a video from Tim where they have just gotten a Mav with PPF and it had bubbles in it And it doesn’t completely cover everything (like 1/8” or 1/4” near the edges). If you want PPF, have some one do it after you get it.

Helpful - I just took delivery of my 2025 Lariat AWD Hybrid a month ago and getting ready to order another one with a different trim but will stay clear of the items that seem to extend build times

Greetings fellows,

I do apologize if this topic is tiring, or if I'm asking a question that has previously been asked. I have been lurking here since September 2024, and have been searching for the answer.

I ordered my Green 2025 Maverick Lariat September 12, 2024. I ordered it as a Hybrid AWD, 4k tow pkg, bed extender, pro trailer assist, bed liner, and bed cover, along with the hood/fender protective film, tailgate lock, no moonroof.

I received the initial order confirmation email that day with only a four-digit order ID. Since then, I have received no other emails or updates other than text messages. I don't have a VIN or anything else. The text messages I received are:

DEC 11, 2024 - "We're still confirming the scheduled build date for your Maverick Lariat. We will keep you updated"
Jan 14, 2025 - "We expect to begin building your Maverick the week of March 10, 2025. We'll update you if that changes"
Feb 11, 2025 - "Ford update: Your Maverick has been delayed to the week of February 24, 2025."

My dealer claims they don't know anything. They give me the same response each time I asked them for an update- something along the lines of 'we will let you know as soon as we hear anything'

Should I have received a VIN by now?

I will also mention I am using the A-plan discount, so idk if dealers act weird with Ford employees.

Is my experience weird? Am I missing something? Should I start being more tough on my dealer?

Thank you!
Nothing weird.

If you haven’t already create an account on the Ford site and login. The only way I knew that I had my build done is I happen to be on the site and checked my account dashboard. I didn’t receive any text emails or anything from the dealership for that matter that my build had been done and the truck had been shipped. I’m glad I checked. Make sure you register with the Ford site with whatever email address you gave the dealership.
I did this, and didn't see my order status or vehicle on the dashboard of the site. Thank you for your suggestion!

I wondered if this was the case, but your reply confirms it for me. I will make note for next time I order a custom vehicle.

Thanks, that's what I am seeing as well. I was assuming that people were getting VIN numbers fairly quickly after ordering, but my situation resulted in an extended wait before scheduling, it looks like.

We get the excitement even if we’re a weathered seasoned bunch of Ford customers…

As some overpaid jerk said, “stay pumped!”

You’ll be pleased when it arrives

You can have the dealer remove them from your current order. You should still be price protected from your original order date, because you are removing things; right Tim @fordvideoguy?

I never received one word from Ford about the Maverick that I ordered, and neither did my dealer. I ordered it in early September, and it showed up at the dealer on January 30th.

If this helps here in my story:

Nov 9 2024- I ordered by 2025 Mav Lariat with 4k tow and moonroof option, standard blue color.

Nov 10- email from Ford, not dealer, confirming the order and assigned an order #. This was “step 1 in the 4 step Ford process.

On Nov 25 I changed color to Azure Gray from standard blue with dealer.

Nov 26- step 2 I received email from Ford a production date assigned for week of Jan 6 2025 and assigned a VIN #.

Following the site I learned production date changed to week of Jan 27. I don’t recall an email on this.

Feb 4 step 3 Build date Feb 4 email from Ford

Feb 5 step 4 Email from ford it was shipped.

delivery notice was Feb 19 in NJ.

Same here. I ordered my 24 Lariat hybrid July of 23 from my dealer, and he told me 6 months to a year for delivery. I ordered the bed cover, mud guards with it and the spray in bed liner was included with the Lariat. I put $500 down and on February 3 2024 it arrived. I had no information from Ford or the dealer in between, but I was delighted with the less than 6 month delivery. At the time, 9 months to a year was the norm in Ontario Canada. People were saying, don't put any options on it to get a quicker build. I'm not convinced that would have changed anything.

It looks like you are scheduled with a build date this week, so you would have a vin number that the dealer can give you. They can also tell you what your current status is by looking it up in VinView.

Hey there! I appreciate your response here sir - I did talk with my dealer today and was able to get a VIN number! The relief I feel is palpable haha

Thanks again for everyone's input. I knew this forum was the right place :like:
