Greetings fellows,

I do apologize if this topic is tiring, or if I'm asking a question that has previously been asked. I have been lurking here since September 2024, and have been searching for the answer.

I ordered my Green 2025 Maverick Lariat September 12, 2024. I ordered it as a Hybrid AWD, 4k tow pkg, bed extender, pro trailer assist, bed liner, and bed cover, along with the hood/fender protective film, tailgate lock, no moonroof.

I received the initial order confirmation email that day with only a four-digit order ID. Since then, I have received no other emails or updates other than text messages. I don't have a VIN or anything else. The text messages I received are:

DEC 11, 2024 - "We're still confirming the scheduled build date for your Maverick Lariat. We will keep you updated"
Jan 14, 2025 - "We expect to begin building your Maverick the week of March 10, 2025. We'll update you if that changes"
Feb 11, 2025 - "Ford update: Your Maverick has been delayed to the week of February 24, 2025."

My dealer claims they don't know anything. They give me the same response each time I asked them for an update- something along the lines of 'we will let you know as soon as we hear anything'

Should I have received a VIN by now?

I will also mention I am using the A-plan discount, so idk if dealers act weird with Ford employees.

Is my experience weird? Am I missing something? Should I start being more tough on my dealer?

Thank you!

Good to know I took delivery of my 2025 Maverick Lariat AWD Hybrid on January 23, 2025 - it was on the lot I got it the day after it was delivered since the original customer changed their mind

now down to my concern I am getting ready to order a second one different package maybe a Tremor or Lobo no plans to get rid of my Eruption Green Lariat I love it so I was hoping to get the second one with a decent delivery I wonder what’s going on with yours

Have you called ford or your dealer and ask for clarification?

Yeah, I have, and that is why I felt I would reach out here. The response I've been given by the dealer has been as I stated, mostly a non-committal "we will let you know as soon as we know". Ford customer service also stated that the truck hasn't been built yet, and there's no VIN, which is very obvious and not helpful. My question is why have so many others got their trucks, and I haven't?

Congrats on your truck! I wish I knew what was going on. Maybe it's something to do with the 4K tow package and trailer assist components? I don't know.

Well I figured it wasn’t built yet, you got set into build 2 from the start by having pro trailer assist. When mine got schedule it came with a vin and a build date. I’d try the ford costumer relations number, the regular customer service number is very sub par. For example they told me my maverick was still in Mexico when it was it was already in Chicago. Your 2nd and 3rd email were very strange though.

Wondering if it’s a dealership issue maybe they were over their allotment and didn’t really order it when you requested it or something crazy either way poor customer service on their part I feel for you - if it is their fault you should out them so no one else gets hung out to dry

I agree with you on this, the dealership saying we will let you know, when they have ways to find out information is crazy. Daft, did you put money down at all?

Yes I put down a 1K deposit. I regret that now, lesson learned.

The dealer doesn't have anything to do with when it's built. What orders get built when is a bit of a black box, and the people who have data are the people like Long McArtheur, and your dealer probably doesn't sell a hundred a year like them. You get a VIN when it gets scheduled for production. The "order number" is the number your dealer used when they entered your order, mine was D005.

I got a "Your Ford is scheduled for Production" email with a VIN about 8 weeks prior to completion date. Eventually a window sticker showed up at the link. Then I got a "Your Ford Maverick has been built" email. I believe not everyone gets all the emails all the time. Somewhere on here is a Ford Customer Servie number you can call, back in the day there were hacks to get train railcar numbers and such but now that people aren't waiting 18 months for their truck that seems to have died down.

There were some questionable things that happened thru my ordering process as well. The truck is worth it or at least is for me. I will probably not custom order a vehicle again but pick one off the lot already built. I would try ford customer relations and see if they can give you more info, at least they can record what’s going on with your experience and keep a paper trail if you do have to file a complaint against the dealership.

Appreciate your reply, that does give some insight - the dealer is King's Ford in Cincinnati, Ohio. They are large but not on the same scale as some of those big ones.

If you haven’t already create an account on the Ford site and login. The only way I knew that I had my build done is I happen to be on the site and checked my account dashboard. I didn’t receive any text emails or anything from the dealership for that matter that my build had been done and the truck had been shipped. I’m glad I checked. Make sure you register with the Ford site with whatever email address you gave the dealership.

Keep in mind too that some people who ordered in August are now getting their trucks built. Build 2 only started this month I believe, I’m sure someone knows the exact date. I know it sucks waiting but once you get your truck the wait will be worth it. I had mine just over a month and I love it. Hoping you find out soon.

🤓 Search videos from Long MacArthur (Ford) , he tells a lot of how to’s and not to’s on ordering. If I remember he said not to order bed covers, I believe even bed liners, that it would , could slow down the process. That video was with in the last couple of weeks. He’s there internet guy, he has a lady that helps him.
hope this helps…
