Still No Updates 45 Days Out?

Pre-ordered a 2025 Lariat Hybrid in mid-August, received the "we have your order" from Ford a few days afterwards, and zero news since despite it being past the 45 days by which the email had promised an update. In the meantime have heard reports from Reddit and here that folks who placed orders after me have received updates with VINs and/or build dates. First time pre-ordering any vehicle let alone from Ford; is anyone else in the same boat / this not unusual, or should I be pestering my dealership and/or Ford corporate?

Yeah, every 45 days you should get an email promising to get back to you within 45 days. It provides no information aside from that, but if they didn't send you one, something is screwed up.

The confirmation email is much more important, though. That proves it's in the system.

I ordered my '24 Lariat FX4 in July '23. I NEVER received an email update, while it seemed everyone else was reporting on theirs.
I still received my truck in the time frame the dealer quoted.
But I was nervous.

I'm in the same boat. Ordered mine the first day order banks were open. Got the one "we have your order", but never heard anything else. Lariat hybrid 4WD.

I called the Customer Service number, (1-800-392-3673), gave them my email, and order number. They were able to tell me that my truck is scheduled to be built the week of Nov 25. Even gave me my VIN. Give them a call.

If you count weekends, it has been nearly 60 days since the first email I received. My salesman told me to call Ford, being lazy or uninterested, I called and was told it was unscheduled and clean. No VIN, no build date, no update other than that. XLT hybrid.

I ordered mine in August and still have heard nothing since the confirmation email. Thinking about calling when I have some time to kill. Lariat hybrid, AWD, 4K tow.

Have your Order Code & Sales Codes handy. If you don't have them, call your salesperson or sales manager.

I remember those days :unsure: when I thought that I was in no hurry to get my truck. When you go on this site and the reddit site & hear of others getting scheduled, anticipation builds. Just a little FYI, the dealer considers your ordered truck theirs until you finance or pay for it. They even advertised mine for sale before it arrived at the dealer.

yeah i've pretty much resigned myself to "hurry up and wait". Thanks for the tip re preordering, I knew it was their car until I paid for it but would like to think I at least have right of first refusal, having put down a deposit for it and all.

yeah i've pretty much resigned myself to "hurry up and wait". Thanks for the tip re preordering, I knew it was their car until I paid for it but would like to think I at least have right of first refusal, having put down a deposit for it and all.
Then once the dealer receives it they hurry up and add the extra's that you didn't ask for at a premium price (window tint, door handle cup/door edge protection in my case).

You'll either need to call your sales person you placed the order through or contact Ford customer service, I have seen a lot of people not getting the email updates for some reason. I ordered a MY25 the day the order banks opened and never got an email, however mine is scheduled for week of 11/25 currently

You're lucky you're not in Canada as it is Ford Canada's SOP is to only communicate with the dealer. You can call Ford Customer Service and get info using the Sales & Order Code and you can track the build once you get a VIN from the dealer, but you get no correspondences from FORD directly unlike in the US of A.
