Wouldn’t do it , both vehicles I’ve rebuilt with front damage had those lower crash bar points twisted and crushed , first and cheesiest thing to bend on the bumper cover sub structure. Would only use something if it uses the tow hook mounts or made holes in painted cover that goes through to upper bumper( Steel substructure)behind the painted cover. Any little bump will bend back lower tube and the brackets going back to front of an arms .that lower crash bar is like 18 gauge hollow mild steel 1” x1” square tube.and it supports the bottom plastic surround for all the radiators via 2 inset metal clips clamped over the plastic. Break that plastic shroud and that’s $800 ( just the plastic shroud)without even pricing any of the coolers ( 5 different ones for the hybrid).
my opinion not strong enough mounting points.

here in deer country, we call those damage multipliers. they do nothing but cause more damage on deer hits. to be a true deer guard, like what you see on the front of a semi, they need to be mounted very solid. mounting to thin sheet metal wont help at all.

Thanks, good point about the knee crusher.
I might end up painting the bracket red (like some other cars have their recovery hooks painted) if that seems to be too much of a concern. I will probably have to see how much it sticks out and how visible it is to decide.

Have a good trip down to FL and let us know about mpg with the now fixed underbody!
1200 miles. Kept it on cruise control at 70mph the whole time. Eco mode. Average mpg was 36.4.

Everyone has different taste, but that does not look like it belongs on a Mav.

Thanks.
Yes, that is quite of a drop with the grille guard on.
