Start-Up Chimes

Have enjoyed my MY23 XLT Hybrid Maverick for a little over 3 months now. No complaints so far. I love this truck. However, I am curious to understand why, on very rare occasions when I turn the key, I will not hear the usual 4 chimes on start-up...yet it will say "Ready to drive" And today for the first time I heard a thinner more tinny 4 chime sound. Any idea what might be going on here? Anybody else had this experience? Oh..and a very Happy Motoring New Year to all my fellow Maverick Truck Club members!

Same happens to me. It’s like the Mav feels shy sometimes.

Mine does that occasionally, I usually turn the key off and open and close the door so the radio turns off and restart the truck. This takes care of it most of the time.

I will have to start noting the chimes.
It does seem to have different chimes for the same situations.
One even sounds (I'd swear) was a "Harpsicord"..

I feel like I read somewhere that someone noticed the "crappy" chime version is related to a low battery/Deep Sleep Mode. Just as a warning of something to keep an eye on...... If you had the time to take a battery voltage reading the next time you hear the weird chime (the 12v, not the High Voltage), would be interesting to see what the battery was at.

Mine does that too randomly. My theory is that the chimes are normally played through the sound system speakers but sometimes they play through the small speaker by the instrument cluster. That is why it sounds quieter and tinnier.

This is pretty much exactly what it is. It’s dependent on how the truck wakes up when you open the door. The main reason you might not hear it is you have buckled your seat belt before turning it on as that is what that chime indicates. I’ve noticed I can stop it half way when I buckle the seat belt during that chime.

It will chime 4 times if your seatbelt isn't already buckled when you turn on the truck.

The tinny speaker in the dash will play the chime, instead of the sound system speakers, if you have certain things on. I think the blinker is one - there may be others. As others mentioned, it will also use the dash speaker if your battery is getting weak, either from being insufficiently charged and/or the battery is going bad.

Mine has played through the dash speaker a couple times. I took that as a clue to connect my battery tender to the truck when I came home.
