some folks need to watch some classic Motorweek reviews of the 80s and 90s muscle cars that a Maverick would beat 0-60……
And anyone who thinks the Maverick drives like a 'truck' needs to go back in time and drive a '71 F-100 w/ 3-speed column shift, no power brakes, twin I-beam suspension, king-pin knuckles, front drum brakes, and bias-ply tires.

And no power steering. I had to pass my drivers test in a 69 f100 power nothing, 3 on tree. Parallel parking was a b*tch, but I did it! Fortunately things have improved a lot since then!.

I do miss that old beast.
Glad my Mav does not drive like that.

Me too. Before I had to replace our main vehicle, I was looking for another old 2wd, long-bed, half-ton pickup truck, but then when our old Buick took a crap, I realized that we needed something comfortable and easy to drive w/ four seats... hence the Maverick.

1) Didn’t make up the CarPlay article. I’m looking but I WILL find the exact article i was reading
2) Me being a troll is how you and others perceive it
3) Still not sensitive. But

I have the exact same color and model of shoe you have. I don't have the small ones on the right. lol.
1. Well, it's been two weeks and looking at a browser history takes seconds and not weeks so yeah you made it up.
2. No, you are absolutely a troll. You can try to fool us into thinking otherwise but the title of this very thread (Spot on Maverick review/walk-through) is proof enough of you being a troll.
3. You may not know that you're sensitive, but your defensive posts 100% prove otherwise.

His vocal inflections are godawful - like a middle school kid rolling they're eyes as they're forced to read something to the class. And he wrote that himself - no one forced him. The cadences are unbearable listening, and make me question his credibility.

1) i’m aware of that. I had not found the website I looked at when I saw it the first time. Or at least not on my cell phone so I would assume it was over on my computer at home. But you see I have something called a job. I know you probably said at home all day collecting unemployment checks but some of us actually work for a living so for me that’s not the first thing on my mind. I don’t wake up every day saying oh my God I have to find that website that I saw the information on and go share it to a bunch of people that I’ve never met before in my life including one nobody who uses George Costanza’s name as a screen name.
2) you can call me a troll all you want. I mean you’re full of yourself and you think highly of yourself but I’m glad one of us thinks that. The rest of us who have half of a functioning brain know that you aren’t. But hey you do you.
3) you can call me sensitive all you want. But then again this is coming from somebody like you which we all know that you’re lacking in conscious thought. And brain capacity

The perception of speed fascinates me. The new hybrid does 0-60 in 6.7 seconds & 1/4 mile a bit over 15 seconds (per Motorweek & Car & Driver), and that's seems barely adequate these days. That would be quick for your average sedan not that long ago, and while getting nearly 40 mpg to boot! My Maverick replaced a Prius v. At the time, I had shopped for other used hatchbacks that included the HR-V & CH-R ... you want to talk slow, all three of those were nearly 10 seconds or over 10 seconds to 60! As for the hybrid system, not surprisingly it operates exactly like my Prius v did, so the reviewer frankly just won't like any hybrid system setup like Toyota's or Ford's as it's just not his thing.

But, after almost a year I'm still really enjoying my Maverick. As noted, it's way faster than the Prius v was (almost 4 seconds faster!) while getting nearly the same fuel economy but with much added utility, 4k towing capability, a bit more interior room, and awd ... truly amazing in my opinion!

Does it ride rougher than the Prius v or Sienna? Yes, but neither of those can handle the payloads or towing ability. You have to have one or the other (plush ride or payload), or a more expensive air suspension or something similar setup. More plastic the Prius v? Yeah, it has some more ... but, in the 6.5 years I had the Prius, I never once fondled or snuggled up with my dashboard, so I don't care.

I hope my Maverick remains problem free for another 7 or 8 years. I enjoy driving it and feel it was a nice upgrade from the Prius v overall. It certainly has some quirks that I don't like, but that's been true of every car I've owned.

Just my $.02, which isn't worth much :)
To put things into perspective the 1982 Mustang 5.0 zero to 60 time was between 7 and 8 seconds depending on who was testing and how it was equipped. That's about the same as the MAVERICK hybrid. And the 2010 ranger time with the most powerful available engine was over 8 seconds with atrocious fuel economy. The Hybrid Maverick is average for 2024 , the last year where figures are available.

True. The 0-60 time for the 1980 Corvette is around the same as for the Maverick hybrid 😅

1. I could act like you and get all offended and go on this long rant about how I've had a job since I was 14 years old. But honestly, that's just a lame argument on your part to insinuate that someone must not have a job if they have time to post here. I guess no one here has jobs?
And you can try to save yourself all you want but you have plenty of time to post these long self righteous diatribes and yet you don't have less than one minute to look into your browser history for an article you supposedly read? You're the one who originally posted it and then when it was pointed out by many that your post contradicts what the Ford CEO has publicly stated you doubled down and said you'd post the article. So you have time to post long rants but you don't have 60 seconds to find an article you supposedly read. Got it, that makes sense. So yeah, all signs point to you made it up.
2. I'm not full of myself at all and further I would absolutely guarantee that just about everyone else here actually thinks that about you. You seem to lack the ability for self reflection and self evaluation.
And again just look at the title of this very thread you started, it absolutely proves you are 100% a troll.
3. Again, I could get all upset and offended but it is funny that is your best argument and yet you're questioning my brain capacity.

1) yes you did reference the fact that the Ford CEO did state that view about Apple CarPlay. However the article that I was referencing wasn’t directly referencing anything any member of the Ford higher-ups believed. It was an opinion article that I had asked a question about. Some people have continued to bitch about it like you who can’t get over the fact that it was an article
2) as if you haven’t been able to decipher yet, I really don’t give a flying fuck what anybody thinks about me. Like me? Cool. Don’t like me? Cool. Don’t really give a shit. But it does show the kind of person you are that wants to sit there and harp on somebody else because you have no life and spend all time in your parents basement
3) and again I’m not offended about anything. I make my posts and whether you like to read them or not that’s up to you. But again this has nothing to do with the article. It’s just like every other post I’ve ever made. It would have a topic about it and then somebody else would bring something from another post I made into that post and then derailed the entire thing. Every single post that I’ve ever made has somehow someway turned back into a discussion about the seats. Even if that’s not what the topic was about nor was the post about somehow someway you guys feel the need to keep bringing that shit back up. Because you have no sense of brain function

Yeah I'm not even going to bother reading all of that. So basically what we can gather from all your responses is that you made it up. Cool.
