I have had my truck for about 2 years, and have only put it in Economy mode. I am getting about 40 miles plus per gallon.

Today I decide to put the truck in Sport Mode. Why did I wait 2 years to do this? The truck ran like a completely different truck. The pickup was great, and the truck felt like it had a lot of pep.

I have no idea what will happen with my gas mileage, but for a short time I will be driving in Sport mode.

I love sport mode! Especially the simulated shift point sound effects!

I have not measured the change (if any) in MPG, but it's worth it for the extra smiles.

Separately, Sport mode is also great in colder Northern climates since it almost exclusively runs the ICE in hybrids and thereby heats up the cabin much faster on those really cold days.

The tacky fake shifting noises and whatever else it is they do to make it feel like a shift, the worst part of using sport mode. :ROFLMAO: That said I do like using it on mountain roads.

Since you don't have a Hybrid, you may not notice Sport mode dropping your mileage. OP has a Hybrid and will very likely notice worse fuel economy in Sport mode.

@ValenciaOrange : Have you tried Slippery Mode on your Hybrid? It often improves MPGs even more than Eco Mode does. Try it for a week...

I get about 39 mpg in Sport Mode verses 44 mpg in Normal Mode with local driving. It’s a significant difference for me but, the fun of Sport Mode does make it worthwhile to use. Sometimes you just gotta say … mpg be damned!

I've gotten so used to no-shift, that the fake shift seems silly to me. I much prefer the smoother shift-free driving of Normal, Eco and (mostly) Slippery modes in my Hybrid.
To each their own. :)
