I've had my 2025 AWD Hybrid Maverick for a few days and I'm taking note of the driving sounds. First, I had to get used to the regen braking sounds, since I've never driven a hybrid before. So, what I'm about to describe isn't that.
What I noticed is that inconsistently, after gently accelerating to around 30-50 km/h and then easing off on the accelerator, shortly after the engine switches from electric to hybrid, I'll hear a very faint sound that I'll best describe as a gentle whining sound with a change (increase) in frequency (raised pitch), something like a combination of whale sounds and a distant emergency vehicle siren. After a few seconds, the sound is gone until the next time I accelerate from a stop to about 30-50 km/h and ease off the accelerator. I haven't noticed it every time, so I would say it's inconsistent, but maybe I'm not paying close enough attention (because I actually have to pay attention to traffic instead of my truck's sounds).
Anyway, I assume it's normal. Everything is working fine, smooth, and as it should. I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed these sounds.
