Let me start by saying my dealer has not been great. My truck should be here Monday and no private offer yet. I went in today to discuss it will the sales manager and he basically said I have two options. I can not take the truck that I waited 500+ days for or I can pay full price and if a private offer is generated Ford will mail me a check. I have read almost all the private offer threads and never seen mention of the second option. If I take the second option there is no motivation for them to continue working on my private offer. Ford really screwed this whole thing up. I have tried all the solutions. They tell me their inventory specialist is 2 months behind on offers and I even tried the generate a certificate number that was suggested but no luck. Has anyone received a rebate after the fact or is my dealer just screwing me.

Ford isn't the problem here, it's your dealer. Mine had no issue with applying the private offer. It is not like this is manual labor, it is a few keystrokes. Your dealer sucks but it sounds like they have the upper hand here. Go ahead and see if you can get Ford CS involved. Otherwise you're going to be trying to get a check from Ford after the fact and I agree with you about that being unlikely.

I have tried the above certificate number generation. It however did not work for me. I do not know if it is because the dealer used letters and numbers for my order code or what. I will call Ford customer service again Monday. I knew this would be a problem which is why I started talking with my dealer over a month ago about the private offer. I agree the dealer is part of the problem, but they have the upper hand. In talking with the salesman apparently several people have abandoned their orders when their trucks arrived due to not getting the rebate. I am guessing the dealer is using this tactic to pad their profits as all the mavericks I have seen on their lot had $7500-$10000 mark up and have sold in less than a week.

Oh boy! That's terrible. My certificate # was not readily available when I did the chat with Ford's CS. But I figured it out. They look it up partially with your zip code. The zip code the dealer used was the one that was on my driver's license, which is different now.
When you reach them, you may want to try that,m if applicable, for them to find it.
Also, if there is a common spelling variation.

Sorry to hear this is still an issue at the witching hour. I had the same issue. No certificate after many months of trying (Sooo many phone calls!!). My dealer had the $2750 off the price at signing so I asked no questions. There was no certificate in Smart Vincent as of that morning, so I'm positive they just discounted it anyway and were going to submit an exception to Ford. They have that option if they are willing.to do it. Good luck!

Mine was missing, my dealer contacted ford directly, and got me my certificate. Your dealer is just being a dick.

Yeah I have two rollovers and one of the certificates shows but not the other. I had to call and it took a bit but it turned out they had my street and number but the dealer city and zip on my address. Supposedly I just have to give the certificate number and that zip and it should come up but we'll see.

Keep at it! Others on here with customer- friendly dealers have had the dealer take the private offer amount off their invoice — even without the certificate, because they knew the customer was entitled to it — and then applied to Ford for an exception, and received the amount back from Ford themselves.

If your sales manager continues to suggest you buy the truck on the expectation of getting a private offer check from Ford later, I would let him know you are aware this is an option that is open to him … and would be much more acceptable to you, the customer who has been waiting so patiently to get a truck.

You are entitled to the private offer — that’s not in dispute, right? Your MY22 offer was COVP processed, right? (Essential to getting the private offer.) Has dealer confirmed that?

We also had a last-minute struggle to get our private offer, which wasn‘t showing up. Turns out — thanks to this forum — we knew more about how to get it than the sales manager did.

Thankfully, once he learned what filing for an exception was all about, he was able to reach the right person at Ford to make it happen, and it didn’t take long at all. (Delayed us picking up our truck by just a couple days, because a weekend was involved.)

We were NOT thrilled with the prospect of buying the truck and then hoping the check would come through to us from Ford.

I picked mine up last weekend after waiting 517 days, and the private offer was applied to my purchase by the dealer, no hassle

Ask dealer, nicely, to do this:

If your dealer knows you qualify, they can file an exception (“Exception to Policy”) when you get your truck and purchase it, so they can give you the discount at purchase and the dealer can get reimbursed later.

If they balk at this, ask why.

If they are certain enough you are entitled to the offer — and all seem to agree you are — they it should be no risk to the dealer to wait for the money.

You should not have to. You have done enough waiting, and not your fault Ford has such a screwy system.

Well it arrived today. My choices were take the truck or walk away. Maybe ford will send me a $2750 check. I am not holding my breathe but her she is.

Well my check actually showed up. If you are having a problem or your dealer is holding your vehicle hostage understand how important the customer satisfaction survey is when you purchase your vehicle
