I'm sorry for another question on these two topics but I'm very unclear and I just got the e-mail that my truck has been built and should be shipped soon.

First I should lay out the facts. I ordered an XLT Ecoboost in January 2022 that never got filled. In September I went to the dealership and they rolled my order over to a 2023 model, however I made several key changes to the order. Namely I changed it to a Lariat Hybrid with just about every option.

Now, I believe that for the Private offer I'm eligible for the lesser amount of $1,750 since my original order was for an Ecoboost. Will I also get price protection since the Lariat Hybrid price increased for 2023?

Also how do I verify that Ford has the Private offer on my order? Should I contact Ford customer service or the dealership?

And yes I understand I should not have waited until the last minute. I think after waiting so long that in the back of mind I thought this truck was never really coming. Heck, I'm still worried something is going to go wrong and I won't get it.

Call Ford and they can give you your private offer. You should also be able to ask your dealer to check SmartVincent and it should show in there already. If it doesn't, then you need to call Ford and see what is wrong. Sometimes the zip code gets messed up.

As far as the price protection, you are protected from the price increase but it's up to the dealer to honor it and make the change. It isn't done automatically. A good dealer will make the adjustment without you asking, but many times you will have to show the original order to them to get then to change and they still may not do it for you. Good luck

I think you are asking about the price increase from around February, 2023? Your order should be price-protected from that increase, back to what the price was at your new September, 2022 order date. As Skadizzle says, good luck. It will all be up to the quality of your dealer as to how smooth it goes. You are correct that your Private Offer should be the lower $1750.

1) You get the transitional private offer of $1750 if your dealer had COVPed your order with Ford.
2) You get price-protection from the Feb 2023 increase if your dealer COVPed your Sept. 2022 order with Ford before the price increase.

I'll start by calling Ford tomorrow and see what they say first. The dealership hasn't been the best at having correct information. When I went there in September to create the roll over order they told me there was no need to do that because 2022 orders were still being scheduled. This happened after Ford had announced that Maverick orders for 2023 models were being shut down in just a few days due to high demand. Thankfully I knew all the information from this forum and I insisted they create a new order for a 2023 model.

This is helpful information, I'll see what they say about the price protection when the truck gets here.

I'm sorry, what do mean by if your dealer had COVPed the order with Ford?

Dealers were required to submit a COVP for 22 orders. It involved a copy of your drivers license and signature. If the dealer didn't, then Ford doesn't recognize it as an official order and you won't get a private offer.

Call Ford help line 1-800-392-3673 ask if you got a private offer. If not contact your dealer, it's all up to your dealer. Have them call there Ford inventory specialist. There is a new for them to find out. As long as they cover it. I just picked up my Maverick today. Got private offer and the A plan. I called the 800# 8 times after they expedited it, and called the dealer. That lite a fire under them and 5 days later I had pin #. Just keep after them

I just called Ford customer service and they confirmed that I have the $1,750 private offer attached to my order. The whole phone call was less than 3 minutes and she even e-mailed me the certificate. I was not expecting it to go that smoothly.

As for the price protection, I'm going to visit the dealership later today and see how that goes. I also found out that my wife can get the X-Plan through her job so I'm going to ask if they'll allow me to use that on the purchase. I know it doesn't take much off the price these days but it's something.

My X-plan saved only about $865 off of the truck's MSRP...but it also saved me $495 off of their usual $595 DOC fee, as well as the $1,000 they try to charge as a "Custom Order fee". But I asked about X-Plan at the beginning of the process, because I knew that accepting it was voluntary on their part.

When I was in the finance office, the lady made an odd comment...that she was not allowed to charge me less than the X-Plan printout. Made me wonder if there was an even better deal to have been had...but I doubt it as they have a USED 2022 XLT on the lot priced at $3000 more than my new Loaded 2023 Lariat Lux BAP.

Yeah back when I originally ordered mine we had no idea that wife my can get the X-Plan through her employer. Otherwise I definitely would have asked the dealership at the time. At this point I figure it doesn't hurt to ask and see what they say.

Completely agree. It cannot hurt to ask. They actually don't need your X-Plan PIN until the vehicle is delivered.

My X-Plan eligibility WAS initially based on owning 100 shares of F stock for 6 months. I was only 4 months in at the time, so not actually eligible when I ordered 11/3/21 (Ford actually advised me to go ahead and order before I met eligibility), so I got a PIN for being a Ford stock-holder for 6 months...then Ford discontinued stockholder eligibility!

Then I got a PIN thanks to a friend giving me "Friends & Family" eligibility. After 365 days, THAT PIN expired before delivery. Then I had to get a second F&F PIN. THAT PIN was the one I submitted when I took delivery on 3/8/23.
