I checked on my 3 September Maverick order today, and the nice lady there was really surprised to see that I have a VIN number before I'm scheduled. She said I'm put down as scheduled 8 August, with an ETA in mid September. Then she said I had a VIN and gave it to me. She said she'd never seen a VIN prior to scheduling before.

Edited by OP: I phrased that poorly. She told me I wasn't yet scheduled, but that my scheduling would be performed 8 August. I left the voice chat very confused. It seems strange that they would schedule the week on which you're going to be scheduled.

Those who statements don't go together. You either are scheduled or not.

A VIN is assigned when you are scheduled. She says you are scheduled for 8 August. So you would have a VIN. This is literally how it works. Haha. The only surprising thing here is that the Ford rep would be surprised to see a VIN on a scheduled order.

And now I'm seeing weirdness on the Ford order tracking page. I open it, enter my order number and VIN and I see "session expired, please refresh page". Again and again after page reloads. I guess Ford is having issues today.

I figured out my problem with the order tracking page. You have to sign into your Ford account before it will work. Or at least I have to do that.

The order tracking page is interesting, because it is exactly what the chat lady said. I have a VIN, and it shows me in "order confirmed" status. No scheduling.
