I just got a call from my dealer but something seems a little fishy maybe others are getting the same call. He told me that my order is not being built (xlt lux 4k fx4) and I need to order a 2023 and that if I got one I would get a $1750 credit towards the new MY.

BUT I got a build date back in JUNE originally scheduled for the first week in August. It got pushed back 3 times to the week of 9/5 and since then it's been "in production". I also got a VIN and a window sticker about 3 weeks ago.

I just called the ford phone # and they confirmed that it's still in production with an estimated delivery date for the week of 10/12-10/18 which was pushed back another 2 weeks from the one I was told last week, but confirmed the order is still in the system. I don't see why Ford would have given me a vin and a window sticker if it wasn't being built.

I 110% don't believe my dealer, but at the same time Ford keeps pushing the dates back and here I am thinking It's built and getting delivered in 2-3 weeks but it's not. If I had to guess I'm thinking it's to maybe get me to order a 2023 by offering a $1750 credit, and then surprise me and say that the 2022 came in so they can keep the 2023 and sell it off. Has anyone else got a call like this from their dealer today?

MAYBE it is just an honest mistake. Some of the dealers are all over the map with wrong information. Earlier this week, I called a local dealer just for the heck of it and was told 2023 orders wouldn’t begin until October 22. Ford needs to find better ways of getting information out to dealers and making the ordering steps easier for them. I don’t know why you can’t just sit down with a salesman, fill out and fax a paper form to Ford, get a fax back confirming the order went through correctly, and have people at Ford enter the order into the computer system. Who knows how many people are out there waiting on their 2022 Maverick order because it wasn’t entered correctly/COVPd and they will never get theirs and the private offer price protection for a 2023.

If they have an evil plot it is probably to sell your 2022 to someone at a huge markup and then give you a discount of $1750 on the back end when (if) your 2023 arrives and you still want it.

Getting lots of different stories from different dealers. The dealer I made my 2022 order with says the don’t know when order banks are opening, and the other dealer around here that I talked to said the special offer only applies at the original dealer you ordered from.
