Last Sunday I drove an XLT hybrid demo at a local dealer. Absolutely loved it and did the “build and price” to my specs with sales person. We signed lots of paperwork with understanding the order would likely be rolled into a ‘23 model. They agreed to sell at msrp and keep me up to date.
Why are some of you not allowed to order? I paid a small deposit and the dealer was really accommodating and not pushy at all.
I am fine if it takes a year to arrive but spooked by how many of you being shafted.
First new vehicle I’ve ever “bought”. First domestic vehicle I might own.

Order banks aren't open yet. Dealer kinda punked you. There's your first lesson fella.

Was told it would roll into the 23 order bank.
I’m old and grumpy. If they dicked me around I have time to make them hate that decision.

They took down your info that way when the ordering opens they add your order in.

I concur. I think you did ok. Many folks on the forum have not even had the opportunity to drive a Mav! We are going by reviews from the scribes and forum members who tell us the wait will be worth it!
When the bank opens for 2023 orders your dealer will put your order in and you are on the path to being another well satisfied customer.
Your dealer will have to call you with changes resulting from the release of the 2023 Order Guide which may change your order options and most certainly will change your cost..but yeah, you are doing ok I think.....

My childhood best friend took delivery in April and has been raving about his hybrid. After the test drove I understood why.
Ford hit a home run and I understand there will be hiccups.

If your dealer actually puts your order in the day the banks open, you might get it in 6 months...There are still thousands including myself waiting and will be before you but at least will be in the lot with the other 10,000 new orders on day one.

Are you ordering from the same dealer as your friend? The most important things are 1. Has your order been placed correctly? 2. Can you trust the dealer to sell it to you for MSRP or less? Many have thought they were okay only to find out months later that they were hosed by a dealer. If your friend got theirs for MSRP and you are using the same dealer, that sounds pretty good. If not, you really need to check all the reviews you can find to see if they have screwed around with anyones orders. It takes way to long to just take the dealers word for it. Some dealers will lie to you, that's for sure.

Hi Twin!
I am also old and grumpy and I have a pre-order and deposit in on a 2023 maverick with a local dealer. My 3rd local dealer and last local dealer! I'm running out of time...on the order date, I mean.

This is what I have told my current dealer that I want to see after my order is placed:
- Copy of signed order showing the cost I will be paying at time of vehicle pick up. (Must be a "retail" order, not a stock order).
- Order COVP verification. I am uncertain what form this will come in, Ford "accepted" email, maybe.
- Ford email saying my order has been ACCEPTED, not just order received.
- Price protection on order set to protection date, not sale date.

To the group: If I have missed anything, please speak up!
