I know I'll get called a fanboy by some. Others may be upset that a '23 order is built ahead of '22. But with so many complaints, sometimes is nice to share the positive.

Overall I'm pretty happy so far with the process. Sure things could go off the rails still but so far so good. Through message boards (thanks to the knowledgeable people here) and my dealer I got my '23 order in. I signed my build sheet and a signed sales sheet with OTD price.

I got my email from Ford the same day. From there I communicated with my dealer a few times and while the info was limited they were responsive. I did 3 or 4 chats with Ford. Always polite, and while limited in data they did what they could. And I had comfort things were as they should be.

In November I got the 45 day email. In early December I got a build date in January. Then I got a follow up email from Ford it had moved. Last week when I asked, my dealer checked and confirmed things were tracking and a projected delivery.

Yesterday the website shows my order is in production. Today I downloaded the window sticker.

I have no complaints. With patience and treating people with respect, I have received the same in kind. Just the other side of the coin from some of what we see.

I know not everyone is having a positive experience. I feel for them and get the frustration. But no one wants it to be a bad experience. And I have never gotten the impression it is a lack of caring (by Ford at least) causing it.

Plenty of things that could/should be improved... Caring by Ford hasn't been one of them. And I am fortunate my dealer is being stand up... But some of that may be due to the research I did ahead of picking them. Good luck all, have a great rest of your day.

I like your positivity. I think I tend to be a positive person. However, you are in the process for about four and a half months and have a VIN. Time is not an ally of patience. I personally cannot say how patient I would be after 14 month or longer and numerous build date move ups before I might vent and appear disrespectful. Now, some people are natural complainers. However, the process could have been handled better. Certainly, expectations could have been tempered from the beginning. My two cents!;)

EDIT: See the new thread: Anyone else's Jan 9th build date pushed back again?
The OP seems to be displaying a lot of patience. Not sure I could.

So far I'm happy too!

I have two Mavericks, identical except for the power train, one is EcoBoost and the other is Hybrid. The first was the EcoBoost, bought off the dealer's lot, then my Hybrid order came in 14 months after it was ordered. Both have been flawless. Great vehicles!

During this process, I never once contacted Ford customer service. I didn't see how it would help. The order would arrive when fate decreed. I did stop by the dealership a couple of times, they called me and offered to sell me a couple of trucks that became available, but they were not what I wanted. I never tried to remove constraint options, and my Hybrid order was eventually delivered with CP360, SIBL and mud flaps. Ford sent me e mails advising me of delays in production. The truck arrived on the last day of the estimated delivery date, and the dealer honored our sales agreement. I did get frustrated by the delays, but I knew when I ordered that it was a new model and I expected about half the delay that I eventually experienced.

I have heard that a watched pot never boils. Watching every step of Maverick production doesn't result in a quicker delivery, either, I think.

I also think that Ford has maybe worked out their production difficulties and soon there will be lots overflowing with Mavericks for sale at MSRP or less - and all orders will be delivered by August. MSRP will be higher due to inflation, and interest rates will be much higher.

I've used the word fanboy here a lot, and it's seldom meant as negative. I define fanboys as a whole spectrum of people. Some are just plain in love with their Maverick - and what's wrong with that? I feel joy for those folks. Others are a bit biased in the sense that they minimize Maverick issues and maximize issues with other vehicles in their postings. Heck, anyone who has a child does the bias thing, so that's not so bad either. Probably the only fanboys I have an issue with are the really vicious ones - the folks who just stomp all over somebody who dares to have a different opinion about something.

My Maverick experience was pretty solid too. Yea it took a year, but Ford and my dealer communicated and played it straight start to finish. The truck doesn't blow me away, but it's a pretty solid ride for what I paid for it. In general it does blow my 2010 Ranger out of the water in almost every way (except it has two too many doors). I still scratch my head trying to figure out how Ford delivered so much improvement for zero more inflation-adjusted dollars from my 2010 axle-hopping rattle box.

I'd not hesitate to recommend a Maverick order to a friend. I'd tell them to test drive an SC too. And I'd tell them to be ready for a possibly long wait for a hybrid. But I'd tell them it's a good economy ride if they can get one at or below MSRP.

It's been some time but I understand, stuff happens. I see my dealer all the time, listen to Tim Barz, and keep up on the news. My Maverick should be built this month. Can't wait.

Looked it up, mine's built as of this morning! Just waiting for shipping and delivery. Another 2-6 weeks... Still no complaints hope the last steps go smoothly.
