Ford is screwed. Go get a a rav4 hybrid. I waited 2 months for my rav4 order. Plus you can actually get awd.
I was originally interested in the maverick until it turned out they aren’t actually going to build hybrids.
My buddy just bought a Rav 4. He gave his Prius to his grand kid. He wanted the hybrid Rav 4 the dealer laughed at him. Told him a 2 year wait. Went to two other dealers told same story Bought the regular Rav 4. This was last month. Western NY. In think any you see on websites are orders being filled. Maybe once in a while an order gets turned down. BUT doubtful any on lot for sale. I would say its harder to find than a maverick is.

Are you in need right away for a new vehicle? If so I understand and there are options for sure. If you don't "need" right away I would just say the truck is really worth waiting for, it's fun, comfortable, affordable etc. Patience can pay off :)
Can patience pay off? What do you think the possibility is that some of us now having waited well over a year might NEVER get our hybrid Mavericks built? That 2022 trucks, ordered in 2021 and now converted to 2023's will still not be scheduled/built when they switch to 2024's? That no amount of waiting will pay off?

I would be really surprised if older 2021 hybrid orders didn't get filled. I would think any 2021 would be a sure thing for a 2023 build. Yea it might be a 15 month wait . Its the NEW Sept 2022 orders that are the ones that might NEVER get built. No carry over to 2024 for those people. Then those very people who apparently wont at least be offered first in line for a 2024. I would hope Ford will do at least that and give them first in line 2024 orders BUT from what I have read nope. So those people (me being one of those ) could potentially not even get a 2024. My guess by 2025 there will be competition and I would go that way as Ford would have pissed me off enough I stay away for good.

So i called the dealer in November that we bought our prius from and he called me in late december with a hybrid rav4 LE meeting our specs, but my wife was dragging her feet on it so we let that one go . He called again last week with another one that we put a deposit on. Will be in first week of february. Priced at msrp plus 300 for floor mats. Not sure if we got priority because we are repeat customers but only took 2.5 to 3 months. Will decide what to do with the mav if it is ever built

This is what my friend told me. In Buffalo NY area. Thats all I can tell you. He wasn't lying to me. so not sure why he was told by three dealers that. He left the first dealer pissed as he didn't like the way they actually laughed at him. Seems weird you got totally different results.

To be fair,i got vastly different responses from the few dealers i spoke with. One said 12 months and another said 9 months, one laughed. One said they only receive xle premiums which are about 7k more than LE.

BS Ford new WELL ahead of time how many they could build in ONE year. Lets say by some miracle things changed. They could have reopened the order banks up and filled any excess they didn't know was coming. I call TOTAL BS to what you say.
you're entitled to your opinion, but I can tell you for a FACT you are 100% wrong on this. I spent a good chunk of my career in manufacturing in nearly every job (except executive management level) at companies small and large and you simply don't get it 🙃 Again, read up on JIT and it may change your opinion of how things really work in manufacturing.

They have a plant. They know how many cars per hour they cant make. They known how many per year under ideal conditions. they can make Ford SAID they were doing a 35 to 65 percent split between hybrid and Eco. So they have a pretty good idea how many they will make in a year. Sure it can be off BUT to sell DOUBLE the amount they new very well they couldn't do under the BEST conditions. They just didn't care. Maybe they didn't expect such a sales amount in just a few days. I will give them that. Will they even give people who don't get a 2023 order first shot at 2024? I have not heard they will even do tnat. You will never convince me this was not foreseeable. Like i said sure if they took say 15 to 20 K too many orders okay. BUT about 35 K more is not excusable. No way no how. I will agree we will never agree with each other.

Sorry, long post.

So for me, hybrid Maverick was not an option from the beginning. I need AWD and a bed. Placed an order for a XL AWD, 4k and CP360. Only chose XL because I did not like the XLT interior and didn’t feel it gave enough of an upgrade over XL. I mean it still has a turn key and manual seat. I will never tow over 2000 lbs with it, probably closer to 1000, but 4K gives extra room. CP360 gives safety features and power mirrors.

I’m really starting to lean Santa Cruz SEL AWD. Nicer interior. Push button start, heated seats, hill descent, power heated mirrors with the safety features standard, heated rear window, Fob opening and dampened tailgate. Tons of bed storage standard. Bed is just about the same (like 2 inches shorter). No need for a bed liner. Drives really nice and quiet. Seems to be a better finished vehicle inside and out. Better warranty.

The downsides are that I would lose that Ecoboost power, but not sure if needed. MPG ratings are lower than the Maverick, but the Maverick tire/wheel combo is about 10-12 pounds lighter per corner and IMO too small. I think either adding bigger heavier combo to the Maverick or adding lighter combo to the SC would come close to bridging that gap in fuel efficiency. SC doesn’t have the best exterior colors. SC hitch sits a couple of inches lower.

Oct. 2021 order.
Another round of emails...another round of Sept. '22 new orders getting scheduled. I'm out.
Not sure what I'm going to get. Any recommendations?
Been waiting since September '21. Apparently they "forgot" about the last batch (see signature for fun scheduling run around).

For some reason, every time I pull up to a traffic light, I'm behind a Hybrid Lariat.

I'm sure it's nothing 🙂. Although, my neighbors have been complaining about a grown man randomly screaming in his underwear at night at his phone. Probably unrelated.

Crazy to me that you've seen a Lariat or a Hybrid? I'm in the suburbs of a major city and in the 10 or so total Mavericks that I have seen, they've mostly been XL and a couple of XLT, all EB. Maybe the "truck people" here in Texas aren't as interested in the Maverick and are sticking to the bigger trucks? Or maybe they ordered hybrids and are still waiting? I have seen more Santa Cruz on the road, like 2:1.

I'm in the suburbs (little farther north suburbs of Philadelphia) as well. And oddly enough, the suburbs I live in are mostly heavy Red areas of Pennsylvania (closet hippies?? Lol More likely struggling with gas prices).
I do see my fair share of XLTs, however. It's possible they're still waiting but based on the numbers people are posting, there are a decent amount of hybrids, maybe they are more localized to CA or the other more eco, progressive, liberal areas. I've seen quite a few Santa Cruz trucks on the road. The lights give them away.

At this point I kind of want to set a record and be the last Maverick (aka most delayed order) of the first bank.

IIRC, one Tuesday night recently, @fordvideoguy mentioned that NO dealers have enough allocations to cover all their 2023 Maverick orders.

I felt better hearing this after my dealer said they have more orders than allocations. My hope is that Ford issues more allocations as the production continues. As I understand it, the 2023 total orders roughly aligns with 2022 production. Perhaps they are accounting for shortages and they end up producing dealer stock and skipping a significant number of retail orders.

Yup. This place helped. Also helping was the Ford Video Guy and my dealer that I saw every other week.
You saw your dealer every two weeks? Geeze, I felt bad about bugging mine every few months. I feel better now, thanks!! 😆
