I noticed that if I hadn't run my engine for a day or two, it seems to really "lug" driving out of a parking spot uphill. As in I give it a little gas but it's still barely moving.

And this is only on "cold" starts.

Do you think that's just because the turbo is not engaging on cold starts?

I usually give it about a minute to warm up but sometimes I just crank it up buckle my seatbelt and go.

You have cold starts in Georgia? :p
I would suspect that while you can start and go the computer wants to see some small measure of engine heat before releasing beast mode.

Accurate. The factory tuning doesn't want people going ham on a cold engine. So until you reach warmup temp, it will limit power. This is a good thing. You shouldn't be WOT until the vehicle is at full operating temp, or 170Deg+.

An observation I have made when using remote start from inside my house on cold mornings (and looking out to the driveway thru a window to ensure the truck started) is that I don't see ANY exhaust/vapor cloud coming out of the tailpipe until about 1 minute after startup. It goes from nothing at all seeming to come out of the tailpipe (I know some is, but visually I see nothing) to a full/visible exhaust output literally within a 1-2 second timeframe (once it starts to visually show, it is almost instant).

I assume the truck is conserving/recycling the majority of the engine heat to heat up faster in that first minute. May be related.

I knew someone was going to say that. Even if it's 85 and 85% humidity it would still take a minute for the engine to warm up.

Which is a long minute uphill.
