I knew someone was going to say that. Even if it's 85 and 85% humidity it would still take a minute for the engine to warm up.
Which is a long minute uphill.
I noticed that if I hadn't run my engine for a day or two, it seems to really "lug" driving out of a parking spot uphill. As in I give it a little gas but it's still barely moving.
And this is only on "cold" starts.
Do you think that's just because the turbo is not engaging on cold starts?
I...
Very useful information. That doesn't sound very hard except for the whole getting the vehicle level, unless you can just park on a slight incline and turn the steering wheel at sharp angle to do it.
It also sort of boggles the mind why one would need to do that if they knew the exact amount...
The range on the EcoBoost is about the same, and seemed better on long trips than the sedan it replaced. Though I think that says more about the gas tank than anything else.
The issues with having a hybrid is needing to replace the battery at some point as well as having an Atkinson engine...
My real world MPG is like 21 MPG on Ecoboost FWD, mostly light city 35 to 45 driving. I would not want a hybrid for reliability reasons.
I don't need the AWD where I live now, but if I was in the North East I'd definitely get the AWD / 4x4 and not sweat the 1mpg loss.
Plus I will say the...
Sounds like an Internet legend to me.
In the rust belt we never really used the hand brake unless it involved steep hill street parking. More concerned about them rusting out or getting stuck.
That's the conventional wisdom. Which assumes the parking brake works and doesn't get stuck.
The real issue is having an electronic parking brake that is just one more thing to break.
On the flip side if the car knows when it needs the brake then that's different, in theory anyway.
I was reading the manual for the first time after about a year, and I noticed it states on page 183 , regarding putting the vehicle into park "the electronic parking brake could apply if you shift to park on a slope [or] if you shift to park without the brake pedal fully pressed"
Has anyone...
This is the video I watched. It's from an Edge but is the same transmission. (8F35).
Not a good video really but I haven't seen very many on the 8F35. Which is surprising because I'm sure many need it.
And the 6F35 (Fusion) that I had the fluid was really nasty (burnt) by about 50,000...
The way you describe it makes a lot of sense. I watched a video on YouTube where all the guy did was basically complain for 10 minutes about how difficult this would be without a lift (I guess he never heard of Jack stands).
But now it makes sense that the "side plug" is used to check the...
What's basically what I did for my old Fusion, did fluid changes.
Now with the Maverick will depend on how I put the miles on.
But still curious of how it's done. I would hope they have a fill plug on the top rather than the side.
I noticed from the manual that it suggested a 30,000 Mile interval for transmission fluid changes under severe service. And a huge interval over 100,000 for "normal" highway commuting. Which makes me believe that 30k is the real interval for people who want to keep it past the warranty period...
I can't drive 35. Suburbia is closing in on me sometimes. But empty roads, sport mode, deep breathes lol.
I love the ecoboost. I hope the turbo doesn't wear out and that all the 2.0L issues that the old 2.0s had have been long ironed out.
I don't regret the engine, but I'm sure the tires...
I don't really like the seat in my XLT. I am used to Fusion / Explorer / F150 style seats that have more "shape" and adjustment to them. Where you can get the lumbar exactly how you want it.
Like someday, maybe when the warranty is long gone, I might get an entirely different seat if that can...
Same mileage approximately, flat to rolling roads at 55 to 70, about 3 hour trip. Heck probably a half hour idling after the beach.
Should note that city mileage has recently gone up from 23 to 26.
