My only issue is that the features aren't great for a >$50K vehicle. A $50K new '24 Santa Fe would be pretty loaded up, and has enough power and doesn't really need to go rock crawling.

Look up the Maintance cost of Land Rovers.

Unless Land Rover has changed majorly, I would avoid them. Problems after warranty will take you to the cleaners. Watch Vinwiki on YouTube. He ticketed off Carmax because he bought one there and basically broke Carmax's bank with repairs.

If she decides to buy one, tell her to ditch it right before the warranty expires.

it's her money why should we have any thoughts on how she spends her money. just curious as to why people need affirmation and confirmation on a purchase when it does not involve the other people they are seeking the advice from? it just leads to a lot of misinformation and more confusion and in this case your throwing your sisters personal affairs out to others possibly without even her knowing allowing others to judge her decision without them even knowing where she lives, what she had to drive through, her hobbies and a whole host of other information others have no right to even know about her. Just let her buy what she wants in life and let her enjoy her purchases.

Land Cruiser, and Toyotas have a reputation for reliability in general. Even if last gen Land Cruisers did have issues, still, that'd be like saying look at the maintenance costs of a 1977 Ford Maverick to get an idea of what problems the 2023 Maverick might have, when really its just a name and they share no parts. More reasonable would be to say the new Land Cruiser shares XYZ parts with another recent Toyota and has known issues, but the old Land Cruisers were horrible fuel economy V8s, this is a 27mpg combined hybrid.

LMAO, I meant thoughts on the vehicle, not my sister, you freak! Think I'm going to back away slowly from this circus.... I was just curious what the thoughts on the vehicle were from what has been revealed so far... where is the abort button?

I think people in thread are confusing Land Cruisers and Land Rovers. Regardless, you sister can buy whatever she wants. People desire different vehicles for a million different reasons.

And for what it's worth, if the new Land Cruiser hybid gets 30+ mpg, I'd be awfully tempted. I think it's a cool vehicle.

I am interested in one but I don't like the first year model of a new vehicle. But with that said I seem to have bought 3 of them and had various degrees of success.

2007 Jeep Wrangler - Too many issues and sold it when repairs were costing me too much.
2014 Chevy Silverado - No issues for me
2019 Subaru Ascent - Some issues all covered under warranty so it was good.

I only sold the Chevy and the Subaru during the times where I could get stupid money for them otherwise I would still have them.

So if you don't mind having potential first year issues being resolved on your Toyota Land Cruiser (hopefully under warranty) then go for it. Who knows maybe there wont be any.

FYI, you cannot order a Toyota like you would a Ford. Toyota makes vehicles and sends then out to dealers and they get what they get. Some Toyota dealers will take your "order" and pretend like you are ordering one and hope to find a match. Honest Toyota dealers will tell you that you cant order one but they will put you in line and try to find you a match or a close match. Good luck with that.

As for me I have my third year of production Maverick on order.
