Side Mirror Replacement

My Driver side mirror has scratches on it and I would like to replace the glass only. It has BLIS and is heated.

I saw this on eBay and was wondering if anyone has any feedback:

I scratched the side mirror when removing adhesive which held blind spot mirror.

The side view mirror glass is not the same as a windshield or window.

It is very sensitive and does scratch.

I would pop the mirror off on the original to see if it matches the eBay pictures.

I have a 2026 XL with BLIS and I had to replace the entire driver side assembly.
Here is a picture of what mine looks like.

How difficult was it to remove the existing mirror (glass only) from the assembly? Did you crack the glass in the process? Was it already cracked thus why you had to remove it?

A long shot & may perform a mod in the distant future. Would like to add turn signal indicators to out Maverick mirrors and would need to remove the glass to perform the work. Thanks!

It took some force to get it out.
The mirror remained intact.
During the process it didn't feel like it was going to break.
I adjusted the mirror all the way to one side and then I reached in and pulled the mirror.
Take a look at the tabs I circled in the photo.
That's where the mirror is attached.

Thanks for the clarification. If I do anything like planned, I'll make it sooner than later while the plastic is still fairly pliable. Years from now it will only become brittle and subject to cracking.

Is there any reason you prefer going through the work of putting it in the mirror housing, instead of the side vent area?

Yes. Having LED indication, turn signal, etc. in the mirror housing facing the rear, will allow vehicles behind you to see better if you're turning. The fender mod is awesome (plan on doing that also) but is limited to only being viewed from the side of the vehicle, not from behind it.
