Side Marker Lighting Kits

I have a 2023 Atlas Blue Maverick XL. I was considering adding the light up side marker lights. I see Mabett and Maxzina are promoting their marker kits.

I am particularly interested in hearing from those who have the side marker lights. Which marker kit did you get and would you do it again?

Maxzina just came out with theirs, not a lot of members have them yet. I have the Mabett, they have some leaking issues but otherwise I really like them. I will probably get the new version Mabetts when they come out as part of the discount they are offering.

There's also someone who 3d prints the plastic that fits in the existing Ford plastic and you wire up LED yourself.

I felt the Mabett lights were so bad that I swapped back to OEM.

• poor fitment: It didn't seem to match the body curvature well. There were uneven gaps to the fender, and it stuck out roughly an inch from the body. Yuck.
• "Parking Light" function was at full power, which is completely wrong. It should be dimmer than the turn signal.
• No venting. A hydrophobic vent membrane is important to adjust to ambient pressure changes without breaking, and to evacuate water vapor so they don't fog up.
• LED color appears wrong. It looks more yellow than amber.
• Surface texture doesn't match. It's too shallow and fine.
• Molding defects: Obvious knit lines across cosmetic faces

For what it's worth, I design and engineer aftermarket automotive lighting, so I have high standards. I'm not impressed with anything currently available. I plan to keep my OE badges until a better solution is available (if that ever happens).

I have the Mabett original version. My first set leaked and stopped working on the passenger side. Once I got the replacements I took them apart and completely black siliconed around the edge and then over the screws and where the wires came out. Have not had an issue since and I love them. I love they way the flash with blinker on and I love having the extra light on the side. Yes I would by them again if I had to do over. Mabett has a new version due out very soon, not sure If i will upgrade or stick with what I have. Hope this helps.

You say Mabett will have a NEW version out soon. How do I tell when the NEW version comes out?
