Got a reply from my dealer, parts are finally in.

Just need to book an appointment and hope they don't scratch up the dash or mess up the headliner.

Thanks for all the info. I did a quick search, nothing came up. Just got my letter last week.
Hi I am a Ford service technician, if you would either reply here or send me a message as to what the recall number is you are speaking of, I will check in on it, but I am sure(since I have performed 3 of the side curtain air bag recalls) that parts are readily available at this time. Unless this is a new one , it admittedly is hard to keep up with all of Fords recalls these days!

i got the letter that parts were available back in feb/march so i booked a time with oil change
they didn't do the recall as they said parts weren't available

i just got the recall done last week - they did break the c pillar trim piece and gave me a loaner for a couple days while we waited for it to come in - overall took 5 days

Whaa? They kept the vehicle for 5 days?

Wonder how long did the air bags take, hopefully not more than a day.

lol yeah the trim was broken and had oily/dirty handprints all over the headliner and a pillar
they didn't want to give me back the car in that condition just to come back and leave truck again

so i dropped off car thursday, they gave me a loaner for the weekend and installed the trim tuesday and i had it back tuesday night

Well I pray they won't take that long. Usually takes the entire day for an oil change already.

Though, I can see the plastic getting marred easily. >_<

I had mine done late last month. Dropped it off at 8am. They called at 12:30pm and said it was ready. No issues with broken trim. a few minor dirt/grease spots that cleaned right up. The only big thing they did not return to original location was the power cord for my dash cam. Its mounted up high next to the rear view mirror. In the techs defense, I had removed the camera so it would not be in his/her way. Previous threads noted that the entire headliner has to come down. It took me 5 mins to remount and put power cord back up into the headliner.
My 1st attempt to get this done was back on 3/17/23. It was there all day but claimed the replacement part was wrong. I am guessing the 1st tech had no idea how to do it since there was no evidence that the headliner had been removed.
As I stated in another thread the 2nd time was a charm. Other members have posted that their replacement went smoothly. Hopefully the tech at your dealer knows how to do it! Now just waiting on my YETI cup!

Yeah Ford dealers seem really slow! My previous vehicle (won't name brand) I would go in and be out in less than an hour most of the time for an oil change. Took my Maverick in back in the early spring (8AM appointment), didn't get it back until like 3PM. Then found out they didn't even put the right oil in, frustration to the max.
