I went from a tonneau cover to a bed cap. Well worth the upgrade. The ease of putting stuff in the bed and not worrying about it is great. The extra space gained for stuff is great also. I also have some bags and mounts on the bedsides for stuff.

Some Milwaukee Packout crates for small power tools; a hitch extender; ball bungees to secure a chainsaw, blower, and hedge trimmer over the wheel wells; and a 2x6 divider. All easily removable if I need the entire bed space. The tonneau cover is a SyneticUSA retractable.

What hinges/locks are you using? I was thinking of doing something similar to this.
I don’t have the link but found them on Amazon with search “lock hinges” cost under $10 for two or four for $15

I had budget left since my Maverick was a cheap build, so I got a bed cap.

Just got a BamBed and I made the ski rack last fall. Usually it's one or the other, but I'm trying both. 4 bins (10 gal each) fit under the bam bed and the back two I attached ropes. Chair fits in the front. Should be good for camping once I remove the ski rack.

I never knew about this! Just placed my order. It looks like I will have to modify it because of my molle panels.

Just went to remove the Bambed and the sucker was totally stuck in there due to the humidity, board expansion. Took a crow bar and some band-aids to get it apart. I'll need to grease the slots and/or sandpaper it.

What works in California rarely works at my house due to the humidity. Grrr.

Husky brand "30-Gal. Professional Duty Waterproof Storage Container" padlocked (just to stop the honest thieves), ratchet strapped into place via the top tie down points near the rear window. Wood divider so I can put my scooter between the tailgate and divider (perfect snug fit). All are very easily removable when you need all of the bed space.

The storage container has most of my roadside emergency stuff in it. Also has a large mesh bag of desiccant beads that I can recharge/dry out in the oven if needed. But even with living near Seattle and parking outside, the "waterproof" claim from the container manufacturer has held true and the desiccant beads have not changed color/needed to be recharged.

Having a topper you dont really have to worry about securing stuff too much unless you are hauling really heavy items of lumber. But I do like the roof net and cargo hangers I made. It allows me to get more creative with strapping things. It opens up a third dimension to get the tensioning mechanism out of the way of the cargo. The net absorbs extra straps, dog treats, frisbees, leashes, Also is a great spot to hold pizza.

Looks like you put some mushrooms on your pizza opened up a third dimensions in your bed cap. Those lights, wow. I need to get some of those. And a slice of that pizza...seein' trails...

My solution to my 175 skis that had to go in at an angle. $20 worth of 2x6 and 2 Yakima racks at $4 from a rummage sale.

Excuse me while I go throw away my in-bed ski rack! That's nice!

The only good thing about mine is I can fit a cooler because the board is perpendicular. I have straps there instead of the board. Beyond that, mine's kinda whack.

thanks Tom,
The 2x6's are high enough to put some things under and a cooler will fit in the space near the tailgate. Also the tonneau will cover everything. Lumber is not fastened just sitting in the factory slots. Got the truck in November so this was my quick solution for ski season. Will remove in the spring paint then store for the summer ready for next winter. regards
