Fine if I don't know what I'm talking about...You feel free to buy this base model for 29K it's available right now. I hear they are hard to find
If you really wanted a $20k truck, you can't check any of those boxes with it. Plus you should of known tax/title/fees would be in there along with destination. No one here is getting a $20k truck unless they ordered from a dealer like Granger and happen to live in a state with no sales tax.

There is no such thing as a 20k maverick.

That said, if they won’t sell at sticker without add ons, walk away. It’s simple. Stop paying adm.

Ford said this truck was under 20K...I understand people need to make a profit, and they don't like it when I want to use my own Credit Union, but Toyota didn't do this.

That $5385.35 markup is after the $1495 destination fee.

My Toyota Corolla has adaptive cruise control, and power mirrors, and a regular gear shifter and I only paid $21,485 for it

I don't need their truck, my car is a 2020 model. I don't need their financing either. I've been approved for months waiting on them, I could have handed them a bag of money today, they didn't want it. They sent 4 guys to try to convince me to finance with them.

I love fighting the man, but can I win this one?
Ford did NOT say this "truck was under 20k". It has always been MSRP starting under 20k for base hybrid + Destination charge.

Which in itself is very misleading, but people keep parroting it, so it must be true.
If you read it on the MTC, it's true (y)

This is again another example and a WARNING to have a "Buyer's Order" either done when you first ordered or at least done soon after when myself and others here have said over and over again that doing that will protect yourself from this happening (ADM Markups, Useless Add-ons) or at least inform you that the dealership will be doing these charges when your vehicle arrives.

If you had done this sometime in the many months since you ordered you would have known about these charges and placed an order with a number of dealerships that do MSRP with no Dealer Add-ons like AutoNation Ford Frisco where I bought my Maverick Hybrid.

I ordered 8/23 and did the "Buyer's Order" in October. There were no surprises on it and I paid exactly what I agreed upon on 12/13 when I paid for my Maverick.

So again the WARNING for those who believe and trust that their dealerships will honor MSRP at time of delivery but don't have a "Buyer's Order" showing all fees and charges and a total price that you agree to and have you and the General/Sales Manager of the dealership sign and date then you may also see this happening to you when your truck is delivered.

Never pay adm.

I will get flamed for this. But…
adm is only for:
  • impatient people
  • People who have no other choice(wreck, no backup car
The smart players wait it out and know this too shall pass.

we don’t feed the beast.
never pay adm is starting to sound like a broken record around here. maybe your hobby is stretching pennies into Copper wire, but plenty of regular purchasers set a budget for a vehicle buy- and if the price comes in at or below budget- who gives a shit if there is some kind of added profit in there? It's all relative to what I perceive the value of the vehicle to be for MY personal circumstances, not the Red Herring of paying "adm" killing any deal.

Did you really think that you wouldn't have to pay sales tax?!? Or pay for your registration? Or accessories?

The difference btw the sale price ($26,000) and MSRP ($23,705) is the ADM: that's $2,295, not $5,385.35!!!

If you agreed to purchase for MSRP when you ordered, you should fight for it. But you have to fight for the right thing! The dealership or Ford won't pay your sales tax for you. I'm sure Toyota didn't either!

I don’t have a budget. I could pay 100k easily for a maverick. Will I pay a Penny over sticker, nope. You evidently have more money than I. You do you, carry on!

I would agree if most dealers were charging ADM on ordered trucks. But with most selling at MSRP and some even honoring x-plan, a-plan, etc., paying ADM would feel like getting ripped off.

fortunately my local dealer has a policy of only charging MSRP. I asked about it a couple times in discussions over the many months until I finally ordered in December. No worries about ADM in this case.

So… when i ordered my bill of sale was locked in. Your dealers are allowed to change the prices on the fly? Like its basically just putting a hold on incoming product?

or am i misunderstanding
