Hey all, so I am trading my ranger Wednesday so I can get top market value from it. My question is that ford CS and the dealer is saying my maverick is awaiting shipment and will arrive on the 13th (this is there ETA). My question is how likely is this ? My truck will be moving via rail and to the Chicago land area. Do I buy a beater today ? so I have a car in the meantime ? or do I wait it out and trust ford (so far I have trust issues with this company keeping its word LOL ) what would you do ? My beater is a 01 Blazer that should last some time and can re sell it for 500 over what I am paying.

After all I've read on this site (and with my personal experience), I wouldn't trust their shipping estimates. Mine shipped May 28th (if I remember correctly) and was expected 2 weeks later. 6 weeks later it arrived at my dealer on July 14th.

It sat in one rail yard for 2 weeks and then in another rail yard for 2 weeks. I'm not complaining; I've heard way worse stories than that. Maybe shipping is in better shape now, but I would expect a month or more for shipping. I hope I'm wrong. Also, while mine did a 2 week layover in Chicago, it still had to come to NC. Yours may not incur the 2nd delay mine did.

Maybe others with a more recent delivery and who live in your area can give a more accurate account.

so if ya trade in your ranger have you factored in taxes, tag, registration for the beater until your Mav gets here. I wouldn't bank on anything Ford or your dealer tells you on arrival time. I would hang onto the ranger til the Mav is signed sealed delivered.

No, because Ford has to depend on CTX and/or Union Pacific shipping estimates... and rail has been log jammed recently.
