I was packing the truck for a 550 mile trip to NC. I have a 2022 Lariat Ecoboost with 19,200 miles. When I went to pull out the garage the check engine light and a wrench lit up with the following message “Shift System Fault, service required”. I drove it around the block to see if the message would go away and it did not. I’ve checked the forum and only saw the same message for hybrid models. I took my Fusion on the trip instead because I did not want to break down on the interstate. I have an appointment scheduled for Friday. Anyone else run into this issue and was it an easy fix? Thanks in advance.

Ford just went through this with the Mach E as well. For those vehicles it was a PCM reporgram if I remember that correctly. The powertrain code for that which was P07E4:00 indicated a fail to engage park. Could be just a software glitch like that as my truck so far hasn't had any issues and the dial shifters have been pretty bullet proof for Ford and have been in use for several years.

Is it still under warranty just take it to dealer and have them figure it out.

check this thread: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...ft-sys-fault-error-no-start.39113/post-702358

i have 2.0 EB with shift-Sys-fault error and the dealer replaced the gear selector module. Mine had become fully locked up and could not start vehicle. 2 months since that was completed and all has been okay. Good luck and hope for simple fix for you.
Thank you for sharing. Mine is able to start and hopefully I can drive it to the dealership less than 2 miles away. I was able to drive it around the block and back to the house without incident but when idling it automatically moved me from drive to park.

I had this issue too on my hybrid. only fix was new transmission. They do all the module updates when installing anything on the can-bus. Also I’m on my 2nd hybrid control box. They installed one when they did the transmission. About a week after I got the truck back,I started getting module faults and the truck would just shut down. Ended up being the hybrid control module again. This time it was shorting out the can-bus. so far it’s working now for 2 weeks.

Thanks for sharing, seems like more hybrids vs. ecoboost are having this issue from what I’ve seen on this forum.

Just a quick update. Returned from vacation and the “Shift System Fault” warning was no longer displayed, but the check engine light was still showing. Went to take the vehicle to my appointment tomorrow to drop it off early and the check engine light was no longer showing. I thought I would drive it to the dealership to see if anything else would happen, parked the truck at the dealership and everything seemed fine so I cancelled my appointment online. Just as I was about to pull out of the parking lot the “Service Engine Light” came on. Parked the truck and walked into the service department and told them I just cancelled my appointment online and need to keep it with a new issue. They took the truck and said they were backed up and it could be a week up to 10 days to take a look. They gave me a rental (24 Bronco Sport) and said Ford would reimburse me if it was a warranty item, or I will have to pay out of pocket if not.

Hope they can look at it for you sooner than 7-10 days. Good luck and keep us updated.

I forgot I had the Ford Pass app. Opened it and it provided an alert detail. ‘What is Happening?“ “An electrical fault has occurred with the transmission fluid pressure sensor and its associated wiring.“

At least I have an idea what is going on.
